THERMOCRYOLIPIDE a novel method of fat reduction Professor Petr Dobšák, M.D., Ph.D. Department of Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation, St.Anna University Hospital, Masaryk University Brno, Czech Republic 2012
1. 2. first demonstrable abnormal changes occur immediately after the application of cold 3. 4. 5. within 24 hours APOPTOSIS beginns gradual fragmentation of apoptotic cells within 14-30 days cleaning up" of the apoptotic fragments by macrophages up to 90 days after application
violent membrane blebbing, called zeiosis ( dance of death )
Signs of apoptotic process (fragmentation and phagocytosis) fixation of the apoptotic fragments to SPECIFIC receptors on macrophages
necrosis vs. apoptosis two completely different ways of cell death!!!
NECROSIS APOPTOSIS fast liquidation by local macrophages (no inflammatory response) INFLAMMATION PHAGOCYTOSIS

THERMOCRYOLIPIDE - as a novel method of fat reduction - has been introduced last year in Czech Republic and clinically tested. THERMOCRYOLIPIDE procedure has several variants and can be applied as a combination of cold and electrical current or as combination of cold, electrical current and warm.
Clinical trial, part 1. Effects of THERMOCRYOLIPID (cold and electrical currentradiofrequency) on fat layer reduction (June - September 2011) Department of Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation, St.Anna University Hospital, Masaryk University Brno, Czech Republic
Study objectives: 1. Check the effect of THERMOCRYOLIPIDE on the reduction of subcutaneous abdominal fat. 2. Check the safety of (and eventual side effects) of THERMOCRYOLIPIDE application. 3. Analyze the influence of THERMOCRYOLIPIDE on selected biochemical parameters.
Initial characteristics of the subjects included in the study: mean age (years) 46.0 10 Women (n = 26) body weight (kg) 74.5 15 mean BMI 26.9 4.5
Methods: Measurement of the skin fold thickness by calliper (Best)... 4 chest on 3 selected skin folds 7 8 abdomen central part abdomen side part this measurement was done again after 1 and 2 months from application of THERMOCRYOLIPIDE
Methods : COOLIPO TWIN single application of THERMOCRYOLIPIDE (cold of 4 C combined with current of 4 khz) to designated areas of the abdomen and hips effect to a depth of 4-5 cm (approximately) of adipose tissue
Methods:

Results (client A.): at baseline 2 months after THERMOCRYOLIPID
Results (client B.): at baseline 2 months after THERMOCRYOLIPID
Results (client C.): at baseline 2 months after THERMOCRYOLIPID
Side effects: 1. 1 client (4%) reported abdominal discomfort with suspected cystitis (spontaneously dissapeared within 2 days) 2. 4 clients (15%) reported temporary local erythema immediately after THERMOCRYOLIPID application
Comments to the results: 1. We found a beneficial effect of THERMOCRYOLIPID (4 C + 4 khz) on the reduction of subcutaneous fat layer. 2. After 2 months after THERMOCRYOLIPID application there was a clear trend to reduction in mean body weight, BMI and thickness of all the 3 measured skinfolds. 3. We did not observe any serious health complications. There was no increase in liver function (enzyme analysis). From this point of view, the method of THERMOCRYOLIPID acts more friendly than ultrasonic cavitation.
Last year, dr.matus BARAN from Charles University in Prague, started to study the effects of COLD combined with WARM (as a variant of THERMOCRYOLIPID procedure) on the adipose tissue.
So far, this variant of THERMOCRYOLIPID was applied to several hundreds of clients with excellent results: a) visible effect on fat layer b) better comfort during application (no unpleasant feelings related to cooling)
warm cold? this variant of THERMO-CRYOLIPIDE procedure higher effectiveness is supposed Why?
dermis fat layer 39.5 C 5min 39.5 C 4 C 15min 4 C 15min 39.5 C 5min 5min 4 C 15min cellular damage and apoptosis of the adipocytes fat reduction
more effective could be to make fat cell metabolism more intensive by warming (39.5 C) warming and speeding-up the cell metabolism cooling of the adipocytes (4 C) MORE INTENSE structural DAMAGE of lipid molecules MORE INTENSE and FASTER elimination by apoptosis and fagocytosis
The sudden cooling following the warming (and speeding-up the cell metabolism) decreases strongly the ability of the adipocytes to repair structural damages. That s why apoptosis and fagocytosis is then more expectable than by using just cooling.
Comments to the results: This is just theoretically based argumentation. No clinical study has been made until today worldwide. And that s why we are looking for our study of THERMO-CRYOLIPIDE application that is running just these months
Clinical trial, part 2. Combined effects of cold, electrical current and warm on fat layer reduction (started April 2012) Department of Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation, St.Anna University Hospital, Masaryk University Brno, Czech Republic
Always recommend to clients also current dietary regimen and enough physical activity. + + = THERMOCRYOLIPIDE + = THERMOCRYOLIPIDE
Evidence Based Medicine (EBM) from this perspective, THERMOCRYOLIPIDE procedure should be considered as a new non-invasive technique of reduction of body fat, based on INTERESTING AND LOGIC scientific basis
Thank you for your attention.
