Process Preparation of water, DISPONIL AES 60 and potassium peroxodisulphate. Flush reactor with nitrogen and heat to about 75 to 80 C. Add 10 % of the quantity of the monomer blend from Dosage I to the reactor. After the positive exothermic heat has subsided, the monomer blend (Dosage 1) and the catalyst solution (Dosage II) are added (dosage time 1-2 hours, reactortemperature 75 to 80 C) After addition of the total quantity of the monomer blend and catalyst solution post-polymerize to approximately 1 hour at 80 to 85 C Cooling to < 30 C and ph-value adjustment with ammonia, 25 % solution. Technical data of the polymer dispersion MFT > 50 C Solid contents 46-47 % Storage stability > 6 months Mechanical stability good Viscosity < 200 mpa s Particle size < 0.1 mm Dosage The required quantity is dependent upon the type and amount of starting monomers as well as upon the polymerization process and the desired properties of the polymer dispersion. In general, the amount ranges between 0.5 and 5 % AS DISPONIL AES 60, calculated on the monomers. DISPONIL AES 60 is suitable as an anionic sole emulsifier. Application frequently takes place, however, in combination with non-ionic coemulsifiers of the DISPONIL NP, DISPONIL OP, DISPONIL A, DISPONIL LS or DISPONIL TA types. 02.03.2009 DISPONIL_r_AES_60_E 5
