R OSHELL
BIOGRAPHY God has an army of worshippers who are calling out for His presence and releasing prophetic music to the nations. One of those worshippers is named Sharon Roshell. After listening to her fiery vocals, it s easy to see that this woman has been touched by God to release a sound to this generation. Sharon Roshell is more than a singer; she has the ability to bring her audience to an experience with God through her passionate delivery and powerful vocals. She has released three projects, God Is Bigger in 2005, Never Thirst Again in 2008, and Church Girl 20:14 in 2014, which showcased this gifted songstress and set the stage for her national debut, as the album charted on Billboard. Now she has taken another step into her music career by delivering her latest single released in 2018, ising, an edgy and relatable song that takes listeners through Sharon s journey of hurtful experiences to receiving the truth of being made whole in Christ, which is why she sings. As a child growing up in North Carolina, Sharon longed for the presence of God, even though she did not fully understand the magnitude of her desire at that time. She recalls sitting on the edge of her bed waiting to meet with God and He would always come. As the daughter of two music lovers, she caught the music bug early in life. I remember marching around the house behind my mother and singing along with her, shares Sharon. Music was blasting from the record player constantly, she recalls. Later when she and her brother learned to play piano, her parents would hit the road to sing at churches, nursing homes, and in homes of the elderly and ill. At the age of 13, she joined singers across the nation to sing at the renowned Carnegie Hall in New York City. It was her first taste of what it was like to sing on a major stage. She has since been on many stages, even though it took her a while to overcome a fear of being in front of people due to constant criticism that she encountered as a child. Sharon continued to sing. Sharon s path to music ministry, wasn t a straight line. She initially planned to go into the medical field as a nurse. As she drew closer to graduation, she realized that it was never a true desire. Shortly after that realization, one night she ended up at a tent revival. The traveling preacher asked her to stand and told her that she would bless the world with her music. She didn t know one person at that revival, so she knew God was speaking directly to her. After much confirmation, she changed lanes and started heading towards her destiny. Soon after, she graduated from Valor Christian College with a degree in Praise & Worship Leadership. As a student at Valor, Sharon Roshell attended World Harvest Church, pastored by Dr. Rod Parsley. She was a member of the worship team and traveled with the noted pastor. At graduation she was bestowed a Pastoral medal of honor for her superior service to the ministry and school. After graduation, she relocated and served as the worship leader at Kingdom Life Church in Baltimore, Maryland. Sharon honed her songwriting skills while there and added the title recording artist to her resume with the introduction of her first recording God is Bigger, an EP, followed by Never Thirst Again, her first full length album.
In 2014 Sharon Roshell dropped her 3rd CD, Church Girl 20:14. The10-track project included captivating songs like At The Cross, Father of Glory and You Shall Reap. In early 2015, Sharon released a concept music video of the CD s title tune, The Church Girl Anthem. The project was a highlight to A ministry that has seen the psalmist open for artists like, Tye Tribbett, Fred Hammond, Hezekiah Walker, Smokie Norful, Lauren Daigle, Newsboys, Michael W. Smith, and Matthew West. In addition to her new single, ising, Sharon is set to release, Declare and Decree Live, an album purposed to help listeners easily repeat truths from the Word of God over their lives through song. Sharon Roshell has traveled the country and abroad sharing her music and testimony of how God rescued her from fear and an identity crisis that started from words spoken about her. Wherever Sharon goes, many are touched by her music. One woman came up to her after a concert and told her that a spirit of sadness, which had been with her since her son s death 15 years earlier, completely disappeared when Sharon began to sing. Another woman who had been hearing voices was freed from those spirits when Sharon released a song of worship to the Lord. Experiences like these further confirm God s calling upon Sharon Roshell s life. She continues walking in her calling next to her husband, Antonio D. Thomas, who is also her partner in music and together they developed a new music label, Parresia Music. Both licensed and ordained ministers, they serve not only inside the church, but also in the field of Human Services. Sharon has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Master of Arts in Human Services Counseling, and currently in pursuit of a PH.D in Counselor Education and Supervision. As seasoned foster parents and years of experience in the Child Welfare field, Sharon and her husband founded Kulima Care in 2016, a foster care and adoption placement agency under their nonprofit organization, Fuego Corporation.
