In November 2013, he became the Chief Cancer Control Officer of the American Cancer Society (ACS), Inc. and is charged with providing oversight and guidance for the national and global cancer control programs of ACS. Dr. Wender currently serves as Chair of the National Colorectal Cancer Roundtable, an organization consisting of close to 80 organizations dedicated to eliminating colon cancer as a major public health problem. Who Should Attend Physicians, nurse practitioners/physician assistants, and all other health care professionals whose work addresses cancer screening, cancer survivorship and prevention of chronic disease. Local Colorectal Cancer Screening Initiatives Speakers Barbara Sheets Olson, MD Dr. Sheets Olson graduated from Drexel University College of Medicine, Philadelphia, PA, with distinction in the Field of Medicine in 1982. She attended Mayo Graduate School of Medicine, Rochester, MN, and completed a Rotating Surgical Internship in 1983. She was assigned to North Dakota by The National Health Service Corps. She is a busy rural family medicine physician at the Family Medical Clinic, Lisbon, ND. She provides primary health care to underserved communities. She is a University of North Dakota School of Medicine Clinical Instructor in Family Medicine. In 2012, Dr. Sheets Olson and her staff acquired the nickname Queens of Colonoscopy. They began to use a secret weapon in their practice in the fight for better health for their patients. Jodie Fetsch, RN Jodie is a Public Health Nurse working with Custer Health for the past 16 years. Her current position is the Director of Nursing. She has been the Men s Health Coordinator on the Standing Rock Reservation from 2003 to March of 2015- screening men for prostate and colorectal cancer. She serves on the North Dakota Cancer Coalition and Steering Committee and also the Northern Plains Cancer Coalition and Steering Committee. Conference Details Attendance is limited based on room capacity at the Baymont Inn and Suites. Please register early to reserve your spot. Cancellations. If your plans change and you are unable to attend the conference, please e-mail ndcc@nd.gov no later than May 8, 2015. The North Dakota Cancer Coalition will be unable to refund conference fees in the event of a cancellation after May 8. All refunds will be provided in the form of a paper check.
