Due the bad weather (snow), the meeting was pushed back by approximately 14 minutes. At 8:14 AM, Chapter Vice-Chairman, Tony Jones called the meeting to order with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States. Bob Weber, CPP provided the Invocation, after which the members and guests enjoyed the breakfast buffet. While members were finishing their meal, everyone in attendance introduced themselves. Tony Jones then introduced the 2014 St. Louis Chapter Officers Steve Wilk, CPP Chairman Tony Jones Vice-Chairman ---- co-chair Tom Cinquina, CPP Bob Williams Treasurer ---- co-chair Bob Weber, CPP Garrett Cizek Secretary ---- co-chair Rajan Taylor Tony Jones announced that Steve Wilk accepted our offer to rejoin the Executive Committee and to serve as our mentor to the incoming officers this year. Steve will also continue to serve as the webmaster for the chapter s website. Tony Jones asked if anyone is interested in volunteering or participating on a committee to please contact any of the chapter officers. And also beginning this month we will make every effort to provide guest speakers to make our monthly meetings as educational sessions eligible for CEU credits (this change requires a minimum of 50 minutes presentation by our guest speakers.) This will allow our certified members to receive CEU s by attending meetings. To receive CEU credits: 1. Certified members will need to sign the certification log at the registration desk. This year is a special year for our chapter. Our 55 th Anniversary is in August and this year will be the 25th LE Appreciation Luncheon in October. The Executive Committee is working on plans to properly recognize both of these achievements and is open to any ideas from our membership. Officer Reports: Steve Wilk s Chairman s Report The new chapter website is 100% operational. New features integrated: o Easy to navigate, professional feel, and attractive to potential new members. We currently have 368 Chapter Members. Bob introduced Eric Thomas with the St. Louis Convention & Visitors Commission and Larry Sharp with BASF. Both are new members of our chapter in 2013, but today is their first Chapter Meeting. They were welcomed with a round of applause! Bob reminded the members that their ASIS International Membership expired December 31, 2013 and should be renewed ASAP. ASIS HQ allows a grace period until the end of February for you to renew your membership. If you do not renew by the deadline, you will be placed on "HOLD" and removed from our Chapter Roster until you renew your membership. At that time you will be reinstated and added to our Chapter Roster. For those interested in ASIS Membership, Applications and details are available on the Name Badge table. The best way Bob has found to apply for ASIS Membership is to complete the application with Credit Card info and FAX to ASIS HQ because it goes directly to the Membership group at ASIS. Page 5 of 7
