Welcome to Warsaw Dear colleagues, It is my privilege to invite you to the EAU 8 th Central European Meeting, which will take place in Warsaw on 24 th and 25 th October 2008. Interesting lectures, panel discussions and poster sessions in recent years have caused dynamic and rapid growth in the number of young urologists attending the regional Central European Meetings. Our EAU Regional Meeting provides an excellent platform for young scientists, willing to present their work and achievements in front of the international audience. Therefore, I would like to encourage our younger colleagues to take an active part in the poster sessions, that will enable you to gain experience in these challenging tasks. This year the range of topics presented by our guest speakers will include female urology, urinary diversions, ageing male, and prostate cancer. Now it is Warsaw after Zagreb, Prague, Budapest and Bucharest. Yet another Central European capital will host the urologists of our region. Warsaw is a lively, modern and interesting city, beautifully located in the centre of Poland with many places of historic interest to which you are also most cordially invited. I look forward to seeing you in Warsaw. Marek Sosnowski Chairman of the EAU 8 th Central European Meeting Dear all, It also gives me great pleasure to invite you to the EAU 8 th Central European Meeting in Warsaw. Objective of this EAU Regional Meeting is to develop a platform, where new experimental and clinical work from the region is presented to an international audience. It is the ideal forum for urologists from the region to meet colleagues with similar interests and to develop urological networks within the region. We herewith invite you to submit abstracts. The Advisory Board will make the final selection. There will be prestigious awards for the best presentations. In addition state-of-the-art presentations by invited speakers will highlight topics of current controversy. Michael Marberger Chairman of the EAU Regional Office 24-25 October 2008 3
