Moose Lodge 452 Chapter 2121 Woodward, Oklahoma 452, Loyal Order Of Moose Moose Legion Honor Month Each year Moose International designates January as Moose Legion Honor Month in recognition of the service and support the Moose Legion has provided to the Fraternity as a whole and the local lodges. For over 100 years, the Moose Legion, the Degree of Service has been there to play a critical role in meeting the needs and challenges of Mooseheart and Moosehaven. During that time Moose Legionnaires have made significant contributions to their local lodges by donating countless hours of their time, supporting local fundraising efforts and providing leadership. The Moose Legion is also known as the Fun Degree this is because Moose Legionnaires believe fellowship and fun should go hand in hand with serving others. The Mission is simple To have fun while providing greater Coming in February Sunday February 3, 2019 the Lodge will open one hour before kickoff. So plan on coming out to enjoy the game with your Moose Family. We invite you to bring your favorite hors d'oeuvre for our potluck party table. service to the Moose fraternity. In Woodward as in the rest of Oklahoma, members of the Sooner Moose Legion are always there to serve their lodge and their communities. Here Moose Legionnaires are some of the most involved members in the lodge, whether holding an office or committee chair, helping in the kitchen, working on the buildings and grounds or assisting with a community service project they are always there. If you are interested in becoming part of this proud dedicated group of fraternalist, please see a Moose Legionnaire or ask a Lodge Officer, they are all Moose Legionnaires. This January is a great time to join because the Moose Legion Celebration is in Alva January 18 th through the 20 th. On Thursday February 14 th and Friday February 15 th at 6:30 PM the Lodge and Chapter will be presenting a murder mystery dinner theatre for Valentine s Day. Dinner will feature a three meat combo of beef, chicken and sausage. So bring your better half for an evening of fun and entertainment. This event is open to the public so invite your friends to join you. A Word from the Governor Page 2 Good Luck with those New Year s resolutions! Each year I hear a number of different resolutions from people. As always there is the stop smoking, eat healthier, or get more exercise. How about dedicating some time to the Moose Lodge and the community. As you can see resolutions are centered on habits. Let s all make the Moose a habit that will make the lodge a stronger supporter of the community. I had the opportunity to talk to a number of moose members from lodges all over the country. Each time the same things seem to come up in conversation, participation. It all comes down to butts in the seats. Moose Legion Update From food to activities, there needs to be something for every Moose member. No one event works for everyone. Some of the things that we are currently looking at. Food service, possibly prepared bar foods, or meal events. Music, bands or piano bar. A number of ideas have been presented to the board of officers, but we need your help. If you are interested or have other ideas please let us know. We have a mission to make the Moose someplace that everyone wants to be a part of. We can fulfill this mission, I am certain of it. See you at the Moose! The next celebration is not far away, just a short trip to Alva on January 18 th through the 20 th. If you have never been to a celebration, you need to experience one firsthand. I truly hope you can attend because, the Woodward Lodge will be hosting the next celebration in April. It is a busy weekend and we will need your help to get everything done. Our Moose Legionaries have been working hard this past few months and we need more help in coming months. The next gathering is January 4 th at 8:00 PM.
