The National Citizen Service is open to anyone who is currently in year 11; regardless of background or future plans. There are three main parts to the National Citizen Service The Steps The biggest things I have learnt are to accept people from all walks of life and to jump in head first to any activity and never look back. I strongly recommend the course to anyone. Group Bonding Get to know the other young people in your group during the induction week and a five day outdoor adventure residential. Face the Challenge Learn valuable skills during a five day local community residential and open your eyes to the problems in your community. Then use what you have learned to plan your community project during the following week. The course teaches you things that you don t learn in school. It gives you a chance to experience your neighbourhood in a completely different light, make and grow friendships while at the same time learning loads of valuable life skills. Marcus National Citizen Service is a coalition government initiative supporting young people to develop new skills and make a difference.
