Letter from IWC President Happy 2017! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season and are looking forward to the start of a new year. To Resolve or not to Resolve ~ that is the question. New Year's Resolutions are most common in the Western Hemisphere, but are also found in the Eastern Hemisphere. Studies show that 46% of those who endeavor to make common resolutions (e.g. weight loss, exercise programs, quitting smoking) were over 10-times more likely to have a rate of success as compared to only 4% who chose not to make resolutions. The most common reasons for participants failing their New Years' Resolutions is setting unrealistic goals, not tracking their progress, or making too many resolutions. I have been asked by one of our LONG time members if I could encourage each of you to update your profile page on the website and make sure to include a picture of yourself. So, I challenge you to make that one of your New Year's Resolutions! The instructions for how to update your page are on the Member Directory page of the website. I've already included this as my first New Year's Resolution! 2017 will be an exciting year for Bermuda with the America's Cup this summer. The IWC has several great events planned this year thanks to the help of many of you ladies who are volunteering. Our Holiday Party at Goslings was a huge success and many thanks go to the team who worked very hard to make it a wonderful evening for us all. The IWC would not be as successful as it is without all of your help, so thank you! Happy New Year! New Islander Happy New Year to all! What a fun and festive December the ladies of the IWC enjoyed. On the 7th of December the New Islanders group had a wonderful Christmas Pot Luck and Gift Swap at the home of Sue Titterton. Delicious food and a very competitive gift exchange had all laughing and looking forward to the upcoming season. As December is very busy, that was the only activity we had for the month. However, we are looking forward to the New Year and have several things already planned. The coffee will be at the home of Jackie Dedman. Be sure to look out for your invitations through Paperless Post! New Islanders Suzaan de Kock Danielle Williams Welcome Ladies! Carol Thomsen New Islanders Chair newislanders@iwcbda.com
