What LGP CLASSIC is used for Your health care practitioner has been authorised to prescribe the natural medicinal cannabis product (marijuana), LGP CLASSIC for the relief of one or more of the following symptoms associated with a variety of disorders which have not responded to conventional medical treatments. These symptoms (or conditions) may include chronic pain, multiple sclerosis, cancer treatment induced nausea, appetite loss and sleep disturbance. The potential therapeutic and adverse effects associated with medicinal cannabis use may vary depending on the amount of medicinal cannabis used and the concentration of cannabinoids in the cannabis product. Your doctor may have prescribed LGP CLASSIC for another reason. Ask your doctor if you have any questions about why LGP CLASSIC has been prescribed for you.

LGP CLASSIC is an unregistered medicine. It is only available for use by you, following approval from the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA), Special Access Scheme for your doctor to prescribe it for you. What LGP CLASSIC does LGP CANNABIS 10:10 is a naturally produced medicinal cannabis oil for oral use, which may benefit patients in a variety of clinical settings including epilepsy, chronic pain, multiple sclerosis, palliative care and cancer treatment induced nausea, appetite loss and sleep disturbance. How LGP CLASSIC works The exact mechanism and magnitude of effects of THC and CBD are not fully understood. The THC and CBD in LGP CLASSIC acts on very specific targets in the body, known as cannabinoid receptors. These receptors are found throughout the body, in most tissues and organs, but they are especially numerous in the brain and nervous system. Before you take LGP CLASSIC Your doctor will assess the suitability and dose of LGP CLASSIC for your clinical condition against the effectiveness or otherwise of currently approved medicines. When you must not use it Do not use LGP CLASSIC if you have any of the following conditions: are allergy to any cannabinoid have serious liver, kidney, heart or lung disease have a personal or family history of serious mental disorders such as schizophrenia, psychosis, depression, or bipolar disorder are a man who wishes to start a family have a history of alcohol or drug abuse or substance dependence Do not take LGP CLASSIC is you are pregnant, are planning to get pregnant, or are breastfeeding Talk to your doctor if you are not sure whether you should start using LGP CLASSIC. Do not take LGP CLASSIC after the expiry date has passed. It may not work as well. Do not take LGP CLASSIC if the packaging is torn or shows signs of tampering. Before you start to use it Tell your doctor if you: have allergies to any other medicines have allergies to any other substances such as foods, preservatives or dyes are pregnant, are planning to get pregnant, or are breastfeeding have a personal or family history of serious mental disorders such as schizophrenia, psychosis, depression, or bipolar disorder If you have not told your doctor about any of the above, tell them before you start using LGP CLASSIC Taking other medicines Tell your doctor if you are taking any other medicines, including medicines that you buy without a prescription from your pharmacy, supermarket or health food shop. You should also tell any health professional who is prescribing a new medication for you that you are taking LGP CLASSIC Some medicines may interfere with LGP CLASSIC. These include: Any drugs which slow down the central nervous system, causing drowsiness. These may include sleeping pills, sedatives, some pain medicines, some allergy or cold medicines, or anti-seizure medicines. Other drugs may include antiretroviral drugs used in the treatment of HIV/AIDS, certain anti-depressants, stomach acid inhibitors, certain antibiotic and antifungal medicines, certain heart medicines, and Saint John s Wort. These medicines may be affected by LGP CLASSIC or may affect how well it works. You may need different amounts of your medicine, or you may need to take different medicines. Your doctor or pharmacist has more information on medicines to be careful with or avoid while taking LGP CLASSIC LGP CLASSIC 10:10 Page 2 of 7

How to take LGP CLASSIC Packaging The medicine is supplied in a 50mL amber bottle with a white tamper evident and child resistant cap. A plastic 1 ml syringe is provided for dispensing the medicine which is for oral use only. How and when to take it LGP CLASSIC is for oral use only. There is not yet a scientifically defined dose of medicinal cannabis for any specific medical condition. If you have not consumed medicinal cannabis before, it would be prudent to have someone with you the first time you use it. Your doctor will work with you to decide the dose that best suits you and your symptoms. Dosing remains highly individualised and relies on each person finding the dose that works best for them where the benefits are maximised while unwanted adverse effects are minimised. Follow all directions given to you by your doctor and pharmacist. You doctor will guide you how to start with a very low dose using the approach of Start Low, Go Slow. You and your doctor will monitor the product s effectiveness and side effects. Your doctor will guide you on dose increase or decrease. Patients with no prior experience with medicinal cannabis or cannabinoids are cautioned to begin at a very low dose and to stop therapy if unacceptable or undesirable effects occur. Wait a minimum of 2 hours between each dose to monitor effectiveness and to reduce the potential for unwanted side effects. How long to take it You doctor will advise how long you need to take LGP CLASSIC If you forget to take it Wait until the next dose is due. Do not take a double dose to make up for the dose that you missed. This may increase the risk of getting an unwanted side effect. LGP CLASSIC 10:10 Page 3 of 7

In case of overdose If you take too much (overdose) Immediately telephone your doctor and/or the Poisons Information Centre (telephone 13 11 26, which is available 24 hours every day), or go to the Emergency Department at your nearest hospital, if you think that you or anyone else may have taken too much LGP CLASSIC Do this even if there are no signs or symptoms of discomfort or poisoning. Symptoms of overdose may include sleepiness, confusion, disorientation, clumsiness or loss of coordination, fainting, dizziness, chest pain, fast, slow or pounding heartbeat, panic attacks, loss of contact with reality and seizures. While you are using LGP CLASSIC Things you must do Stop using LGP CLASSIC immediately and consult your health care practitioner if you begin to experience any side effects (see side effects section for additional information). If you are about to be started on any other new medicine tell your doctor and pharmacist that you are taking LGP CLASSIC Things you must avoid Do not give LGP CLASSIC to anyone else, even if they have the same condition as you. DO NOT DRIVE OR OPERATE MACHINARY WHILE TAKING LGP CLASSIC. Check with your doctor when it is safe to drive after stopping taking LGP CLASSIC. Things to be careful of LGP CLASSIC may make you feel drowsy or sleepy. LGP CLASSIC 10:10 Page 4 of 7

Side Effects Tell your doctor or pharmacist as soon as possible if you do not feel well while you are using LGP CLASSIC All medicines can have side effects. Sometimes they are serious, most of the time they are not. You may need medical treatment if you get some of the adverse effects. Ask your doctor or pharmacist to answer any questions you may have. Do not be alarmed by this list of possible side effects. You may not experience any of them. The information on side effects associated with therapeutic use of medicinal cannabis is limited. Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you notice any of the following side effects. Some of the more well-known side effects of medicinal cannabis are intoxication-like reactions including: dizziness, drowsiness, feeling faint or lightheaded, fatigue, headache; impaired memory and disturbances in attention, concentration and ability to think and make decisions; disorientation, confusion, feeling drunk, feeling abnormal or having abnormal thoughts, feeling too high, feelings of unreality, feeling an extreme slowing of time; suspiciousness, nervousness, episodes of anxiety resembling a panic attack, paranoia (loss of contact with reality), hallucinations (seeing or hearing things that do not exist); impairments in motor skills and perception, altered bodily perceptions, loss of full control of bodily movements, falls; dry mouth, throat irritation, coughing; worsening of seizures; hypersensitivity, allergic reactions, like a rash or hives higher or lower blood levels of certain medicines; nausea, vomiting; fast heartbeat. Other adverse effects not listed above may also occur in some patients. Tell your doctor if you notice any other effects. Patients and carers can report a side effect by telephone are encouraged to speak to a pharmacist from NPS MedicineWise on 1300 134 237. The pharmacist can provide further advice on how to manage the side effect and lodge a report. After using LGP CLASSIC Storage Store at 2 C to 8 C (Refrigerate. Do not freeze). If you store LGP CLASSIC outside the refrigerator it may not keep well. Keep it safe where children cannot reach it.
