Older Adult Population of Alameda County The older adult population has grown substantially even within the past few years 2010: Age 65+ are 11.1% of the Alameda County population 167,639 people 2015: Age 65+ are 12.7% of the Alameda County population 208,053 people By 2020: Alameda County will be home to more than 260,000 people age 65 and older By 2050: Those age 65 and older in Alameda County will make up 22% of the population Sources: US Census Bureau, Alameda County Area Agency on Aging
