GIVE BACK GET DIRTY GET FIT Are you looking for a way to promote physical activity and wellness at your workplace or within your group? Do you want to support a fundraising initiative that is coordinated by volunteers and supports local health care? Are you interested in participating in a fun, team-building experience that promotes the cooperation of team members, and ends up with everyone getting a little covered in mud? The Heart Breaker Challenge is a volunteer organized community fundraising event that challenges participants to coordinate as a team to complete a 5-7km mud obstacle course. This event was the first of its kind in the Windsor Essex region, and in the past 6 years, over $500,000 has been raised to support Hotel-Dieu Grace Healthcare s Cardiac, Stroke and Pulmonary Rehab programs. This year s fundraising event will continue to support the capital needs of the Cardiac Wellness, Stroke and Pulmonary Rehab program and other important programs at Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare. The Heart Breaker Challenge embraces Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare s commitment to Changing Lives Together. We want you and your group to GET FIT and GET DIRTY to GIVE BACK and support important and vital local health care programs at Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare and support the commitment to Changing Lives Together. If you have 20 or more team members, please email heartbreakercontact@gmail.com and we can simplify the registration process. The Heart Breaker Challenge is our number one team building event supporting a charity. Dakkota Integrated Systems has been a supporter of the Heart Breaker since its inception in 2013. We had a modest employee turnout that first year. As word spread among our employees at how much fun it was, the numbers of employee participants grew to over 50 in 2015! Dakkota Integrated Systems will be there again supporting the Heart Breaker Challenge in 2019, we would not miss the opportunity for such a great team building event and supporting such a great cause. Domenic Mammarella Human Resources Manager Dakkota Integrated Systems Windsor

This new location will allow for more patients to benefit from the program and allows them to access the expertise of our healthcare professionals closer to their homes. In February of 2016, we held a ribbon cutting at Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare on Prince Road for the new Rehabilitation and Wellness Centre. It was fitting that the event took place in Heart Month as the space was a product of passion, commitment and support from many dedicated individuals. The other large significance of this event was that the facility was made possible solely by fundraising dollars. The $1.7 million needed to create this facility were donated or raised by individuals, businesses and through teamwork within our community. Moving from a cramped space to a nearly 10,000 square foot area with a walking track and improved accessibility for the patients, the space experiences over 25,000 patient visits annually. The funds raised by the Heart Breaker Challenge contributed to this project and the Challenge continues to raise funds to support the work being done in the Centre. What happens in this space is truly transformative. At the heart of the programs is the patients recovery. The interdisciplinary team provides guidance and knowledge to improve the patient's diet and physical activity levels to live life with improved health and wellness. Changes to the patient are not only realized on a physical level, but also a spiritual and emotional one, restoring lives to what they knew prior to the health event. The Challenge will also be supporting the creation of another location to help make the program accessible to a larger number of individuals. Please join us in improving the healthcare of our community in Tecumseh. If you do so, we truly will be Changing Lives Together!
