PRACTICE TEACHING COURSE PRELIMINARY PROGRAMME Practice teaching course in head and neck cancer, 2-4 March 2016 -

Overview Head and neck cancer treatment requires multidisciplinary cooperation between surgical, medical and radiation oncologists. Little doubts exist on the relevance of establishing an effective multidisciplinary team to enable timely and appropriate evidencebased management of head and neck cancer. The management of these cancers continues to rapidly evolve and there is a substantial need for updated information regarding the results of clinical trials, emerging treatment strategies and management of toxicities. This activity will offer to practitioners involved in the care of head and neck cancer patients the opportunity to critically review the key advances in the management and to experience the multidisciplinary interaction between different specialties. In the spirit of a multidisciplinary cooperation, specialists from varied disciplines will have the chance to interchange their professional experiences being involved in activities covering cross-disciplinary subjects in order to improve the patient s outcome. Learning objectives By attending this course, participants will be able to: Summarize current guidelines and future trends in the management of head and neck cancers Apply the methodology for an integrated multidisciplinary management of head and neck cancers Recognize the benefits of the multidisciplinary team approach to tailor treatment plans to individual patients Target audience This course is meant for specialists with an experience in the management of head and neck cancer patients, including surgical, medical and radiation oncologists.
