Exercise modality of the registered pharmacists By the end of 2017, the number of registered pharmacists in Spain was 72,500. As for the profile, 71.6% of the members are women (51,926). 69.5% of the members are under 55 years and one in four members is between 35 and 44 years of age. If we take into account only the active members, this percentage rises to 87.4% 50,587 registered members work in community pharmacies, which accounts for 69.8% of the total. Nutrition, dermopharmacy and orthopedics are, after community pharmacy, the activities with the biggest number of registered members in practice, accounting for the 14.8%, 13.8% and 11.6% respectively. In addition, the Community Pharmacy modality increases year after year the number of members, experiencing an average growth rate of 2.0%.
