Team Members: System: Your team s job is to prepare a presentation to educate your classmates about one of the body systems that makes up the human body. Your presentation must include the following requirements: Part 1: Introduction Tell the name of your organ system and describe the major functions. Part 2: Diagram Provide a diagram of your body system with the major parts or organs labeled with their name and functions. Part 3: Teamwork Explain how your body system works with others in the body. Part 4: Weaknesses Identify at least one type of chronic or genetic disease (ex. Diabetes, Celiac Disease, Alzheimer s, etc. ). Be sure to explain how the disease attacks and weakens your system, and discuss any cures or medicines currently being used to fight the disease. Part 5: Other Facts Find 10 facts about your body system or its parts. Each team will be given butcher paper to help with the presentation. All information should be included on the butcher paper. Plain paper with little evidence of creativity will have points deducted. There needs to be use of color, evidence of creativity, and a clear, concise, and organized pattern to the information. Use of my art supplies are unlimited and you may bring other supplies such as gel pens, glitter pens, yarn, pipe cleaners, etc. Groups will most likely need to assign members to research certain information at home. The textbook is a great resource but not everything is in the textbook. If you are assigned information to research bring it with you the NEXT day. You will ONLY have FIVE days to get this project complete. There will also be an additional day reserved for presentations.

Project Checklist Information Introduction Did you provide the name of your organ system? Did you give descriptions of the major functions of your system? Diagram Did you provide a diagram of your body system with the major parts or organs labeled? Did you give descriptions of the functions of each organ? Teamwork Did you share examples and give descriptions of interactions with other body systems? Weaknesses Did you include at least one chronic or genetic disease with an explanation of how the disease attacks and weakens your system? How about the treatment if any? Fun Facts Did you provide ten facts (or more) about your body system or its parts? Other Information Did you include all the information listed on your Body System Checklist? Presentation Does your butcher paper have color and is there evidence of creativity, and a clear, concise, and organized pattern to the information? Does the paper include your names and title? (names can go on the back). Does the butcher paper have all of your system worksheet information presented? Group Involvement ****Everyone will have a chance to grade their teammates! Did everyone share responsibilities for preparing the presentation? Did everyone participate in giving the presentation? Did you work together and resolve problems peacefully?

Body System Checklist - Circulatory System Major functions of circulatory system Diagram that includes the major parts - heart, artery, vein, capillary - and list the function(s) of each. Describe each of the components of blood- red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets, & plasma Describe the path blood travels through your body Identify at least one type of chronic or genetic disease and explain how it attacks the system and if there is a cure or treatment available.
