OLOR Gym Display Friday 7th November (Limited places) Coaches and Committee Dinner Sat 15th November Berri Resort Hotel At 6.00pm Presentation Night Wed 19th November 6.00pm All groups (No classes in the last week) Kindergym Christmas Party Wed 10th December 9.30am-10.30am Christmas Float Friday 12th December Barmera Pageant Our Vision is that the Berri District Youth Club Inc. is recognised within the community for developing gymnastics as the best physical and personal activity for the youth in the area. Our Mission is to provide the opportunities for all members regardless of sex, race or ability to develop their involvement, skill level and personal satisfaction in their chosen sport.

Cadbury Community Grant The club has been successful in winning a $400 grant from Cadbury Chocolates thanks to our Helsinki troupe s recent sales. The funds have been used towards the purchase of a new horizontal bar. Gym SA Grant We have also won a $1,200 grant from Gymnastics SA. Funds will have gone towards the purchase of a new junior mini-tramp mat and a PA system to enhance our club displays and events. New Clubrooms Update Name Change-The Rec Centre Committee officially changed its name to the Berri Sports Stadium Committee in-line with the name being used on the Berri Barmera Council s grant applications and associated project paperwork. Gym Floor Plan-has now been finalised (see right) and preparations are now well underway to get the project out to tender. The Engineer-for the project is TMK Engineering who are also testing the soil samples that were taken a couple of weeks ago. Stadium Seating-We have began writing grants for seating. The first stage will accommodate over 400 people. Riverland Wine & Food Festival (Saturday 18th October 12-7pm) All parents and caregivers are invited to this years Wine and Food Festival. Tickets are $20 each or grab a group of friends for a discount www.rivelandwineandfood.com and have a great day out supporting the BDYC. Our club representatives will be collecting donations and keeping the area clean and tidy with all funds raised going to our New Clubrooms Project. Important Reminder-All Fees Now Due All outstanding membership and competition fees must be paid by the end of term 4 to be eligible to re-register for the 2015 gymnastics year. Members will not be permitted to participate in 2015 until all amounts are paid in full.

Coaches Corner Gym SA Visit We recently had a visit by Gym SA personnel who were very impressed with our club presentation, structure, coaching programs and management committee. Well done everyone!!! Wedding Congratulations to coach Kathy Hannett and Jacob Reid who were married over the holiday break. 2015 Volunteers If you would like to volunteer for the 2015 gymnastics year please contact the Head Coach Jane McFarlane ph: 0400 179 899. Coaches/Committee Dinner-change in date Saturday 15th November @ 6.00pm. Berri Resort Hotel Bistro. Book your seats asap-see form on the coaches board. Kindergym Kids Happy 2nd Birthday Members recently celebrated our Kindergym s 2nd Birthday with a special morning tea. Thank you to all the Mums, Dads, Grandparents and children for supporting our Kindergym program. Well done to our Kindergym Leader Karen Baxter. Term 4 Fees $7.50 insurance per child/per term $5.00 per session /per child (Children must be supervised by a parent/guardian at all times) Vacancies still available for Babies to 5 year olds please call.. Leader-Karen Baxter ph: 0418 810 940 Kindergym Christmas Party Wednesday 10th December 9.30-10.30am normal session followed by Christmas morning tea. Bring a plate of food to share-remember no nuts. Special visit from Father Christmas and a small gift for each child. This will be the last Kindergym session for the year. Classes recommence on January 28th, 2015. Purchasing of Photos You can now purchase a digital copy of your photo taken by our club photographer/sponsor JLF Photography for $5.00 each. 2014 Northern Area Clubs Gymnastics Competition Over 90 participants competed this year-well done! A huge thank you to all the Mum s, Dad s, siblings and gymnasts who helped with the loading of equipment and to Jay Thomson for the use of his semi-trailer. To all our coaches, judges and helpers who did a great job on the day and the canteen ladies who raised lots of funds for our new clubrooms. It is an enormous task to set up for NACGC and we thank you all for your support. Thank you also to Riverland Pools and Maintenance for donating the bottles of PH8 water for the gymnasts during the competition, to Glenview Poultry for our eggs at breakfast and to Glossop High School for the use of their gymnasium.

Major Club Fundraiser Launched The Berri District Youth Club has been chosen as the recipient for the 2015 Berri Lions Club Calendar. Committee members attended the official launch recently and calendars are now on sale at the clubrooms for $20 each. They make a great Christmas gift and all money raised will go towards equipment for our new clubrooms project. Prizes awarded for the most sales. Equipment we are fundraising for. Sprung Floor Foam Training Pit Gym for All Challenge Congratulations to the twelve gymnasts who competed in the Gym for All Challenge in Adelaide recently. All participants gained multiple placings and all results and video footage can be seen on our website www.bdyc.gymnastics.org.au

Gymnastrada Fundraising Second Hand Shop Grab yourself a bargain at our $2 clothing stall. Open in-between each gym session. Summer stock now available. Ballet Concert BBQ Thank you to everyone who supported our BBQ fundraiser and bought sausages, sandwiches, drinks, ice blocks and chocolates. Thank you also to Rosie Clark who donated $200 towards our trip. Berri Pacemakers Bingo Thank you to all the families who attended our bingo afternoon. A great time was had by all and we now hold the record for the most money raised for afternoon tea. Riverland Field Days Members sold soft drinks, juice, water and jelly cups. Thank you to the van der Hoek family for donating a ride on esky for the raffle which was won by Michael Jones. New Clubrooms Fundraiser Have a great family portrait taken by Italo Vardaro and help raise funds for our New Clubrooms Project. See the clubs website for more information.
