ASPE NEWS PITTSBURGH December 2014 NEWSLETTER Monthly Association Meeting DATE/TIME Monday, December 8,2014 4:30 to 5:30 Board Meeting 5:30 to 8:30 Tabletop Presentations TOPIC Holiday Tabletop Extravaganza / Social LOCATION COST RSVP Sciulli's Bar and Grille 1562 Island Ave McKees Rocks, PA 15136 $10.00 Kevin M. Morrissey; kmorrissey@mwspec.com CHAPTERS ARE NOT AUTHORIZED TO SPEAK FOR THE SOCIETY

President : Don Ditter Thanks to everyone that attended last month, some great information on air sampling smoke detection systems. Hopefully this month will produce a great turnout! Our Holiday Tabletop will be at Sciulli's Bar & Grille in McKees Rocks and the Society President (Mr. Mitch Clemente) will be joining us. So, please come and join us for the Holiday celebration and meet the ASPE President. Jack, Greg and I have got the calendar book set and are awaiting word from Printers USA that the books are complete. I'd like to thank those two guys for their time and efforts. Hopefully we will have the day planners to distribute at the meeting. So, there is another reason to attend. Come save us some shipping costs and get your day planner at the meeting! If you were not at last month's meeting, the board voted and appointed an ASPE Young Professional Liaison to our chapter board of directors. This being said, I would like to both welcome and thank Mr. Phil Hober for stepping forward and volunteering his time and talents for this task. Phil will be responsible for reaching out and communicating with the youth in both our industry and in the college and school settings. Phil is planning to set up some fun, exciting and informative events for the AYP's in our area. Please welcome Phil to the position and if you have any questions, comments or recommendations let him know! He is eager to hear from you, this I am sure of!! Last month, I sent out a survey and got about 25-30% response and it seems that mostly the reasons for not attending are the day and time in which we have our meetings. I will be discussing this with our chapter officers and we will look into the possibility of having a few meetings on another day, time and/or location for next season. Once again though, I ask that if you have any ideas or comments to please send them to me. I always keep correspondences that I get private. So be assured that if you have something to say, it will be between you and I. As the holiday season approaches, I hope that you all take some time to sit back, relax and reflect on another year past. We all need to be thankful for what each of us has and treasure our experiences. I hope to see you all at the meeting! Don

Kevin M. Morrissey-Secretary Welcome to our December newsletter. Happy Holidays! Believe it or not, I am in sales and I was taught early on to UNDER PROMISE & OVER DELIVER. Unfortunately, I failed to follow this golden rule with regard to our new website. We are close... Again, we do welcome any new advertisers as we get ready to move the newsletter to our website. Those who sign up to advertise for the balance of this 2014-2015 year before January will get their logo on the front page of our new site for the balance of the year. With our new location for this Holiday Tabletop, it is very important to have an accurate headcount. PLEASE send me your RSVP. See you Monday!
