We each bring hope and dignity through our service, but there s only so much we can do on our own. With the support of Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF), our global Foundation, we can accomplish so much more together. That s why LCIF launched Campaign 100: LCIF Empowering Service. Campaign 100 will empower the service of Lions around the world, helping us do what Lions do best serve. Keep reading to see how 100% of your generous financial gift supports your causes, your programs and your service. In friendship, Gudrun Yngvadottir Your International President Earn a Presidential Certificate in October A balanced membership is an indication of a healthy club. That s why in October we will be rewarding club membership chairpersons for their ongoing efforts to invite men and women to join their clubs. Invite new members, including at least 50% women. Achieve your membership goal from October 1 through October 31. Earn a Presidential Certificate for your success. When we serve together, we lead by example. Your club membership chairperson will be provided with additional information soon. Empowering Service with Campaign 100 Campaign 100 is our most ambitious fundraising campaign ever. Our three-year campaign has a goal of raising US$300 million so Lions can serve more than 200 million people each year and do even more good around the world. Watch the Campaign 100 video to see how LCIF is empowering Lions to serve, increasing our impact and expanding support of additional global causes. Visit our website to learn more about grants, our impact and how LCIF is empowering Lions through Campaign 100.

District Governor Michael Tyler September 2018 Fellow Lions, I am grateful to so many Lions that have helped me get this year started. Our first Cabinet Meeting, GAT Meeting, and LRP Meetings are behind us. I ve started a lot of my club visitations this year and I ve attended a few Zone Meetings too. Lion Angie and I attended the USA/Canada forum from Thursday afternoon to Saturday night and worked most of the time on Friday and Saturday representing our District. Lion Angie and I plan to participate and walk during the STEPS walk on September 30 th. RETENTION/MEMBERSHIP/MENTORING: I have a few plans already in place to achieve my retention goals for this year. Our GMT (Global Membership Team Leader) Lion Mary Ridenour is actively passing on the word of retention and mentoring members. Everyone should have a backup for themselves and even the King Lion can have a Vice President of the Club run a meeting while the King Lion is there to help with advice. Zone Chairs were informed to find their replacements now and help get their replacements started for next year. Our membership drive continues from last year as we are in our third year of a five-year goal. If anyone wishes an exit interview or thinks about leaving Lions please have them contact me or GMT Lion Mary Ridenour. COMPLIANCE: PCC Lion Paul Metrovich has accepted the position as our District Compliance Officer. He will be asking all the clubs for copies of their compliances with the Attorney General and the IRS (990) filings. Lion Paul is working diligently to help all our clubs stay in compliance and will take phone calls if you need any help. DISTRICT ADMINISTRATOR/CALLING COMMITTEE: I ve appointed Lion Sharon Hall to help and support every club with their monthly Membership and Activities reporting. Lion Sharon is there to help to any club President or Secretary do their monthly reporting. Lion Sharon is trying her best to keep all Membership and Activities reports submitted on time for every club prior to months end. WEBSITE: Lion Joe Hall has been busy with our website. I wanted to let you know a lot of things will be added to our website soon. Any Lion in our District is now able to sign on to a private secured area on our website by adding their email address and a password of their choosing to get into the private secured area. Our District Directory (which is up to date with all corrections) is on there. Lion Joe Hall will add additional sections to our Website to include our District Newsletter, Constitution and Bylaws, District Convention, Events Calendar, Cabinet Meetings (including minutes, our budget, committee reports, agendas, etc.), other Reference Materials such as new membership forms, the Ohio Plan, and much more. Our Website is lions13oh4.org and if you scroll down on the front page you will see the secured sign in area. Once you ve signed in you will see the name District 13 OH4 Lions and if you click on the name you will see the secured area Lion Joe created for us. Please give it a look when you get time. Yours in Lionism, DG Mike 2

1st VICE DISTRICT GOVERNOR REPORT OCTOBER 2018 This is my 1 ST report as District 13-OH4 1 ST Vice District Governor. Starting on my Region 1 Visitation trail. I have visited 27 out of 27 clubs. I have attended two Zone Meetings on the first round. I went to Zone 4 meeting hosted by the Windham on September 4 th and Zone 3 on September 15 th hosted by the Cortland Lions Club. I also had the pleasure of presiding at the Jackson Township s 58 th Charter Anniversary at La Pizzeria in Canton. I also attended the Multiple District 13 Council of Governor s Meeting (COG) on August 3-5 in Columbus. We had our 1 st District Cabinet Meeting on August 12 th at the Deerfield Town Hall hosted by the Willoughby Evening Lions Club. Also at that time we had our first Global Action Team (GAT) meeting prior to the District Cabinet Meeting. On August 26 th we had our 1 st MD13OH4 Long Range Planning meeting in Cortland. I would like to thanks those Lions have stepped up to be on these two committees. It was decided to have bi monthly GAT meetings so we will have one on October 21 st 2:00 PM site to be determined. A very exciting thing is happening in Zone 4 & Zone 5. The Ravenna City Schools have asked the Ravenna Lions to help with their eye screenings. This is the first time that they have been asked by Ravenna City Schools. It was a huge under taking since Ravenna s membership could only supply two people. Well my main thing In Lions is service. So with the help of Zone 4 Chairperson Lynne McDermott, Zone 5 Chairperson Jill Rietz, PCC Chuck Alcorn, Ravenna Secretary Debbie Sunderland, Lions Jim Stroble & Scott Stiegemeier of Kent Lions club organizing the screenings. We will get all the K, 1,3,5, 9 & 11 grade classes screened this year. Last year 2 people did all the screenings and it took all year! It doesn t matter who gets the credit, but that the kids are screened. Thanks to all those Lions who have stepped up and helped! It s hard to believe that my year as your 2VDG is almost at an end. I just got home on June 3 from my training as 1VDG in Salt Fork. I look forward to serving DG Mike Tyler and visiting all 30 Region 1 Clubs. Let s make 2018-2019 a monumental year for District 13OH4. It s Great to Be A Lion!!! Yours in Lionism, FVDG Tony DeLuke SECOND VICE DISTRICT GOVERNOR CAROL SNYDER SEPTEMBER NEWSLETTER REPORT Fall is here, and Lions Clubs in District OH-4 are in full swing! I have been busy traveling for visitations in Zones 7 and 11, mostly with PDG Jeff as my companion. (Soon I will be contacting other clubs in Region 2, Zones 8 and 9, to plan my travels for the winter months.) The Zone 5 meeting I attended was full of fun and lots of good food! So many service activities are being accomplished there. I particularly liked hearing about all the Leo Club projects. I was able to attend my own Magnolia Club on the date when Governor Mike visited. He gives an enthusiastic talk! My visits to Salem, Poland, Wellsville, and West Mahoning were enjoyable. I m finding my way around thanks to the maps on my phone! I believe each of those clubs reported new members within the last few months. That s great news; keep up the good work. Next month I ll attend the 3 rd level RLLI at Deer Creek. The most exciting Lions contacts I had this month were at the USA-Canada Forum in Columbus. We got to meet Lions from all over the continent and choose a number of informative seminars to enrich our Lions knowledge. My favorites were about Ice Breakers, Military Care Packages and Specialty Clubs. I hope to use some of these ideas in the next few years. As Leo Advisor I also appreciated hearing about the Leo to Lion transition, plus helped with them to write notes for the bags of donated books and supplies to be given to children in hospitals. We Serve! Everyone take care and enjoy the lovely fall months ahead. Second Vice Governor Carol 3
