Our Story... In collaboration with the American Dental Hygienists Association and through the generous support of our donors, the ADHA Institute for Oral Health provides thousands of dollars each year to advance the profession of dental hygiene through scholarship, research and community service! Funds are awarded to: - Dental hygiene students for educational needs (Scholarships) - Those supporting the advancements in the dental hygiene field through the discovery and application of knowledge which includes original research, developmental prospects and qualitative and quantitative research. (Research) - Dental hygienists to provide access to oral health care and education to those in their communities (Community Service) We are the only foundation for dental hygienists by dental hygienists - For every $1,000 raised, you will provide a scholarship to develop a dental hygienist s access to educational programs! - For every $2,000 raised, you will empower hygienists to improve the public s health in underserved communities! - For every $5,000 raised, you will provide a grant that supports advancements in the dental hygiene field through research. For every dollar raised, you will develop, support and empower the profession!

In Motion FAQ s What is In Motion: 5K Run, Walk, Fun? In Motion is the premier fundraising event for the Institute for Oral Health. The goal of the event is to raise funds and awareness for your foundation. How Much Does It Cost To Participate? Who Does It Benefit? ADHA s Institute for Oral Health is the only foundation for hygienists by hygienists. By supporting, raising funds and creating awareness, you create opportunities for scholarships, grants, research and community service for ADHA Members. How Does It Work? Participation for In Motion: 5K Run, Walk, Fun is very simple. 1. Run/Walk and fundraise as an individual. 2. Create/Join a team. Gather your peers, come up with a unqiue name and set a goal as a whole! Registration for In Motion is $30. Registration includes a running bib, In Motion T-Shirt and complimentary After Glow ticket if you individually fundraised $100+. How Do I Set Up A Team? Choose a team leader to register first and set up the team. Once the leader has completed their registration, other team members are invited to join! Be sure to select the correct team. What Is The Maximum Amount Of People That Can Be On A Team? There is no maximum for number of people on a team. Invite as many of your peers to run/walk with you in Jacksonville! What Is The Minimum Amount Of Money That I Need To Raise To Participate? We encourage everyone to individually fundraise $100. Once you have hit this goal, you receive a complimentary ticket to the After Glow Party! What is the After Glow Party? Following the 5K Run/Walk, there is the After Glow Party. If you individually fundraised $100+, you will receive a complimentary ticket. If you did not reach this amount or just wish to attend the After Glow Party, tickets are $100/each.

How to Participate Register Online: https://www.crowdrise.com/adharunwalk2017 Register as an individual and begin fundraising! Create a team and encourage your peers to join! Join a team and challenge your other team members to reach a certain goal! Donate to a team to help them reach their goal! Participate Virtually! Unable to attend ADHA s 94th Annual Conference? You are still able to participate in In Motion: 5K Run, Walk, Fun! Pick a time from June 14-19 and run or walk a 5K in your community. $15 registration fee Receive an event T-shirt and a finishers medal You can start a team for yourself or on behalf of your school You can join an existing team Fundraise to support the IOH Foundation

Fundraising Tips Compile a List of EVERYONE you know. Send an email/letter and them decide to support your cause! Make sure you ask. Be sure to ask for their help, not just tell them what you are doing! Include a call to action in your correspondence. Just remember that all donations matter! Tell your story! If you re raising money in honor of a family member, peer, colleague or just in general let them know. Put your heart into your message. People who know you will want to donate and help support your cause. Direct people to your online fundraising page. A direct link to your page will be provided to you upon registration. Remind your supporters to donate using the link or to donate directly to your team. Include a link to your individual or team page in your email signature. Utilize Facebook and other social media platforms. Post messages about your fundraising progress! Be sure to include links to your direct or team page, be creative and tag away! Create competition! Develop a friendly donation competition between other members of your team. Send a reminder. Be sure to keep a list of those who have donated and those who have yet to donate. Update them on how much more you have to reach your goal. Say Thank You! Thank You is a powerful expression. Acknowledge each donation, no matter how small or large, with an email or a thank you card.
