III BIOCAPS WORKSHOP IN BRIEF DIABESITY. NEW STRATEGIC TARGETS AND INCRETINS The workshop pretends to get deeper insight in the frontline research in pathophysiology of diabesity, attending to the treatments with incretins and the new incretin derivates and going beyond their insulinotropic actions to incretin pleiotropic activities in tissues and organs. The Workshop includes seven different sessions related to the following research areas: 1. Adipose tissue, 2. Obesity, 3. Cardiovascular system and kidneys, 4. Neuropathology, 5. Inflammation and Immunity, 6. Beyond borders (lung, gonads, bone ) 7. New pharmacological insights All sessions consist of 3-4 lectures of 20-25 minutes with additional time for discussion, and they will include basic, translational and clinical presentations by selected international experts in every specific field. We are looking for a comprehensive and updated review of what it is expected in the next upcoming years respect new pathophysiological insight, developments and applications of incretins and derivate molecules to obesity and diabetes. We feel this exciting event will cite some of the most outstanding researches and endocrinologists from different European countries in a friendly and stimulating environment to encourage the scientific discussion. Biocaps EU project will hold and support the expenses of organizing the meeting, and since the registration will be free for all attendants, and also the travelling and accommodation expenses for invited speakers.
