With a shared zeal to give back to society, non-profits and corporate volunteers are together well positioned to address the challenges that lie ahead, and lead India towards a more developed and equitable future. It is in this context that the National Volunteering Week (NVW), from th to 24th, has been launched by India@75, an initiative of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) that seeks to bring together multiple stakeholders to realise the vision for an inclusively developed India by the 75th anniversary of its independence. Volunteers speak 20 An excellent initiative by CII for initiating the India@75 national volunteering week. We are thankful to www.webridge.online for making us aware about this platform. This kind of initiative embed us to be more strong and work with full throttle towards the service of nation and society. I and my team at Happy Faces pledge our support to the IforIndia movement and will urge others as well to volunteer for achieving the vision of India 2022. On the occasion of the National Girl Child Day, Shri Arvind Kejriwal, Hon'ble Chief Minister of Delhi inaugurated Girl Child Week that is being celebrated from - 24 20 by ADF India. He set an example by signing the pledge to honor and respect women, along with planting 'Raat Ki Rani', a jasmine shrub which blooms at night, to send out the message that women should be free to flourish not only in daytime but even in the darkness of the night. The Train the Champion Program for the ladies of HPCL, was conducted under the HPCL CSR Program by Hari Dharti. The significance of doing it now is the CII India@75 Volunteering week. Many many thanks to Sridevi Kaul, Head HPCL CSR, for her amazing drive and passion for making this happen. The CII India@75 platform has been instrumental in bringing us together and many more such programs are happening! Wonderful to be associated with the CII India@75 Team! Champa Ganguly Co-Founder and Director Hari Dharti Eco Solutions Pvt Ltd Happy Faces Vadodara &WeBridge Online carried out a campaign titled "Pasti Se BanayengeHasti". During this campaign they collected pasti i.e. old newspapers, magazines, books and waste papers from people, which will further be sold to generate funds for the needy. 1600 kg of pasti was collected. The awareness campaign conducted by Hari Dharti for HPCL employees aimed to spread information about the ill effects of improper garbage management on our environment. Apart from this, the campaign also inspired people to be the change agents and carry the message forward.
NATIONAL VOLUNTEERING WEEK 20 Enactus Club of Indraprastha College for Women organized a waste paper-bag making drive in their college. As a part of this activity, volunteers were guided through the procedure of making a paper bag with the use of old newspapers and magazines. CII's Indian Women Network and Young Indians conducted a 'Story Telling Session and Life Skill Session' for the students of Gangamma Thimmaiah Govt. School to imbibe confidence in children. Stories were narrated on how sharing and caring can change one's way of life and make the child a better individual altogether. Nirbhed Foundation celebrated India@75 National Volunteering Week 20 by organizing free Medical Checkup and Distribution Camp at Ghaziabad slum area. A sensitization session on Protection against Child Abuse was organized by Young Indians at Sindhi Primary School, Salem. Around 800 children were guided to keep themselves safe from any form of abuse. Kirori Mal College organised a Street Play- 'Dastak' in Najafgarh community to spread awareness about atrocities against women and sensitize people to have more respect & compassion towards women. Yi Goa in association with the students of Goa institute of Management (GIM) visited Margao Police Station to conduct a one hour seminar on organ donation for 60 police officers. Through power point presentation and some short videos, they explained different myths and facts about the topic and informed them about how to register as an organ donor.
NATIONAL VOLUNTEERING WEEK 20 Nirbhed Foundation organized a session on digital literacy in a slum in Delhi to sensitize the slum dwellers, especially the youth & children, about the usage & importance of smartphones, laptops and other devices. Nirbhed Foundation organised an awareness campaign on banking & financial literacy to sensitize the people about importance of having bank accounts and aspects of online banking. Students of St. Xavier's College colelcted as many books as possible for underprivileged children to raise the general awareness about the several million children who do not have access to schools. They collected over a 1000 books as a part of this campaign. Yi Jaipur Chapter organised an interactive session on Stress Management & Image Building at JK Lakshmipat University, Jaipur. Ms Bhawna Sugandha, Yi Member addressed on the various aspects, problems & solutions faced by youth such depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, lack in confidence etc.
