8. Why are you interested in joining the EACVI Board (300 words max)? EACVI is a leading organization in the world. I had the opportunity to serve EACVI as the Chair of Membership Committee, member of Education Committee, member of former Echo nucleus from 2016 to 2018. During this period, I worked together with my colleagues in the board to enlarge the EACVI family that reached today a number of more than 10000 members. I also had the great opportunity to build good relationships with the representatives of imaging bodies of national societies to understand the ways to better collaborate with and reach our members locally. Also as a member of Education Committee I had the opportunity to passionately contribute to several education initiatives of EACVI including webinars, teaching courses, books and other documents. By joining the EACVI board in the upcoming period I would dedicate my energy; - To value our members commitment to medical science and their willingness to share their knowledge and clinical experience. - To strengthen further the ongoing collaboration with national societies and be more inclusive to make our diversity our strength. - To embrace young imagers to bourgeon their talent for research and clinical skills for best patient care. - To improve the quality and the competence in cardiovascular imaging, to promote the appropriate use of all cardiac imaging modalities in Europe through education, certification, and research initiatives. - To raise the pivotal role of imaging in patient care from prevention to treatment through multicenter, multi-national projects and collaboration with other cardiovascular sub-specialties. I would be honored to serve EACVI as vice president elect for echo within the new board. Elections to EACVI Board 2018-2020 Page 6 / 6
