Sponsorship Opportunities: Shelter from the Storm Breakfast Every year 45-50 Table Captains from our community invite 500 of their friends, family and business contacts to attend our annual fundraising breakfast. This is a free event that provides those attending information about our programs thru inspirational personal stories of success. Operation Backpack Thousands of students in need in our local communities return to school without the basic supplies they need. With your help, Operation Backpack is able to provide new backpacks filled with school supplies to homeless, at-risk and foster children from Pre-school to High School throughout the Bay Area, Greater Sacramento Area, and Reno regions. Together, we are helping children learn and thrive in school, stay in school, and build a bright future. Birthday Party Help bring the excitement and fun of birthdays to children in need by sponsoring the Brightening Birthdays Program. Birthday parties are hosted by community sponsors complete with cake and presents for children and families who have experienced homelessness. Those experiencing unstable housing issues so often miss out on birthday celebrations and Brightening Birthdays helps change that. Sponsor a Program or Special Event Sponsor a local program or event that fits with your mission and culture. These opportunities include: Employment Fair, Mather Community Graduation, Employment Readiness & Workforce Development Program, Veterans Services, Family Shelter, Former Foster Youth, Senior Safe House and more.
Operation Backpack Statistics 59,000 backpacks have been distributed to students living in shelters, foster youth and those living below the poverty line 350 local businesses, corporations, churches and schools hosted collection drives to support the campaign in 2017 Over 500 volunteers make the campaign successful every year We proudly partner with over 250 local agencies, non-profits and schools that serve students living in shelters, foster youth and those living below the poverty line Operation Backpack is 100% community funded and supported. 6
