EXCEMED Blended Education Improving success in ART: how to define it and key strategies to get the best outcomes Live intervention in Beijing, China PRELIMINARY PROGRAMME

Improving success in ART: how to define it and key strategies to get the best outcomes Overview Controlled ovarian stimulation (COS) now plays a major role in optimising IVF outcomes by facilitating control of different aspects of the process and increasing the number of oocytes available. COS aims to achieve maximal success with minimal side effects. Progress in and understanding of ovarian physiology, as well as new advances in ovarian stimulation strategies have made it possible for healthcare professionals to achieve the optimal outcomes for patients. Success in assisted reproductive technology (ART) depends on carefully controlled conditions in every step of the laboratory routine. In addition, continuous advances in technology require constant revision of good laboratory practices and the introduction of new techniques. This educational activity will improve the participants knowledge of the latest technologies and laboratory practice guidelines. The learning activity offers an interactive programme with specialised lectures tailored to fit the needs of physicians and embryologists working in ART, followed by lectures and case studies. Learners will have the opportunity to discuss, directly with renowned scientists, pertinent topics that have been the subject of controversy and innovation. Discussions will concentrate on how to facilitate optimal laboratory conditions, culture environments, selection criteria and how to select the best therapy for infertile patients. Learning objectives By completing this educational activity, you will be able to: Appraise laboratory and clinical outcomes and their relationship to defining success in ART Define key factors influencing the success of ART Tailor the best stimulation protocol for the patient undergoing ART Discuss and debate changing approaches to ART Target audience This programme is designed for clinicians and biologists working in assisted reproductive medicine, who want to acquire up-to date information for improving their current practice. Chair Robert Fischer Fertility Centre Hamburg Hamburg, Germany An EXCEMED Learning Journey The EXCEMED blended education approach reinforces concepts from different angles using diverse formats which reinforce the learning experience. A multistep approach is used, encompassing webbased and live activities. All activities in-person and online involves the full interactivity of learners. At three stages throughout the process, you will be asked to give your feedback on the learning experience through the 3 surveys. The aim of this learner-centred programme is to enhance clinical practice by exploring the ideal outcomes desired by patients, embryologists, and clinicians following ART, with individualized approaches toward attaining these goals. After completing your Learning Journey with EXCEMED, you will receive a Diploma signed by the faculty members and a final Outcomes and Feedback Report. 2 3

CME Provider EXCEMED is a non profit foundation dedicated, since the last four decades, to the development of high-quality medical education programmes all over the world. EXCEMED adheres to the guidelines and standards of the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME ) which states that continuing medical education must be balanced, independent, objective and scientifically rigorous. EXCEMED - Excellence in Medical Education Senior Programme Manager: Chloé Xilinas T +39 3356275874 chloe.xilinas@excemed.org EXCEMED adheres to the principles of the Good CME Practice group (gcmep). Register now and you will receive EXCEMED invitation to start your Learning Journey! LECTURE An introductory lecture by Sandro C. Esteves, which highlights the key points of the POSEIDON concept. This first tutorial prepares you for the live intervention lecture on POSEIDON in Beijing, and will enable you to: Grasp the latest scientific advances in the field of impaired response to ovarian stimulation Understand the new low prognosis concept and its application in clinical practice Individualize and manage women with expected or unexpected low ovarian response to ART according to the POSEIDON classification LIBRARY The second tutorial augments the content of the intervention and gives you the information you need to be fully engaged with the live intervention. You are also able to share your research and publications with the rest of the community using the library platform, and submit any questions you have to the faculty ahead of the meeting, which will be answered during the live intervention panel discussion. Features of the interactive library: Literature corner: summarises the key points and related publications for each of the lectures being presented during the live intervention in Beijing. Publications exchange: contains a section for learners to share their research and publications related to the educational activity topics. Question time: is a chance for leaners to ask questions anonymously the faculty will answer them during the live intervention. The tutorial helps you to: Find the latest information on protocols and techniques and keep up-to-date with advances in ART procedures Share best practices with colleagues and therefore improve patient management Access information from the leading experts in the field 4 5

FACULTY The live component of the Learning Journey begins with a 30-minute roundtable discussion, allowing you and experts to engage with one another prior to the plenary sessions. Faculty members presents their scientific material using a combination of lectures, panel discussions and case studies. You are notified via email when the video lectures, slide kits and a scientific highlights publication from the live intervention is available online. Venue This live intervention will take place at the: COURTYARD BEIJING NORTHEAST 101 Jingmi Road, Chaoyang District Beijing 100102 China https://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/bjsne-courtyard-beijing-northeast/ Language The official language of this live intervention will be English.
