Introducing the TRIUMF Community Above & Beyond Awards We re delighted to be launching the TRIUMF Community Above & Beyond Awards (A&B Awards) to highlight and celebrate individuals and teams across our community who accomplish exceptional things, including those who support others in making that work possible, throughout calendar year 2018. 2 The A&B Awards are a peer recognition initiative providing all members of the TRIUMF community with an avenue to shine a light on one another for great work rooted in TRIUMF s values. Award recipients will receive a small token in recognition of their special achievement.

Eligibility Both as nominators and award recipients, the TRIUMF Community Above & Beyond Awards are open to: 4 TRIUMF staff and emeriti TRIUMF Innovations staff TRIUMF co-op students within calendar year 2018 TRIUMF students TRIUMF Alumni and Retiree Association (TARA) members Great Dane staff TRIUMF House staff TRIUMF affiliates
Nominations Nominations are accepted online via the SurveyMonkey nomination form and are open until 11:59 PM PT on January 8, 2019. Please submit only one (1) nomination per award category. 5 TRIUMF s Leadership Team will then choose the award recipients. Award recipients will be announced at TRIUMF s Mid- Winter Celebration on January 19, 2019 and communicated to the lab the following week. NOMINATE YOUR PEERS TODAY!
Nomination Tips Be sure to share the why behind each nomination clearly and concisely (max 300 characters). Note: This might be shared with nominees and the TRIUMF community. 6 The strongest nominations are deserved, individualized, AND specific. You re invited to offer a nomination for each award category, but you re not required to provide nominations for all categories.
Privacy Nominator s name and contact info is requested, but not required. Nominators will remain anonymous (internal to the process). Leaving your name and contact info may be helpful should TRIUMF s Leadership Team be seeking a clarification or more information when reviewing nominations. 7 The why behind the nomination might be shared with nominees and the TRIUMF community. Award recipients will be recognized at the Mid-Winter Celebration on January 19, 2019 and in subsequent TRIUMF communications.

Individual Award Categories The Behind the Scenes Wonder Award Someone typically unseen who makes the magic happen. Awesome TRIUMF Ambassador Award Someone dedicated to helping share TRIUMF s story with wider audiences by getting involved with public engagement opportunities. Superbly Safe Award Someone who shines in how they respect the health and safety of their peers, our visitors, and our neighbours. 9 Community Connector Award A leader in their own right who widens our world by uniting diverse perspectives in inclusive and equitable ways. Reverse Entropy Award To get to the heart of matter, we need a clear and clean path. Goes to that special someone who works diligently to subvert the second law of thermodynamics and bring order and organization to our spaces.
Individual OR Team Award Category The About Dang Time Award For a person or a team who took action to make a longawaited change happen that benefits our community. 10 Team Award Category They Did What? Wow! Award Impossible things are simply those which so far have never been done. Well, this team made it possible.
