The Fall Flight of the Arrow
Wulapeju Lodge 140, Fall Flight of the Arrow A Letter from Lodge Chief Nick M. Hello, my fellow Arrowmen! The fall season is possibly the most exciting season of all on our Order of the Arrow calendar. As one year finishes and another begins, it is always fun to see the great things the upcoming year has in store. In just a short while, each Chapter will be organizing Brotherhood Bashes along with some fun meetings and events for all Arrowmen to enjoy. If you have not yet been involved with your Chapter, now is the perfect time. The best way to be active in the OA is to be active locally, and your Chapters are more than willing to help. We also have our LLD coming up, and we strongly encourage anyone who is looking for leadership training, fellowship, and some solid advice to come. Kishwaukee Chapter's very own Sam P. is organizing the event, and we can promise you that this will be well worth a few hours of your Saturday. Our Lodge Executive Committee could use a few more youth members to get involved in some leadership positions as well. If you would like to be involved with any aspect of the Order of the Arrow, from being a Ceremonialist to planning events, inform your Chapter Chief or find out from your OA Troop Representative who to get in contact with. If you're a new member of the LEC or hold a Chapter position, please make sure your Chapter Chief and the LEC have your contact information. Again, I look forward to a great year ahead. I have no doubt that this year will be great, and I want to thank everyone for giving me the opportunity to be your Chief. From the LEC: Letters of the Officers of the Lodge Executive Committee Vice Chief of Activities Nathan S. Congrats to all new Ordeal members that have been inducted through Fall Concave and Summer camp. I am starting to plan a few things and have a few ideas about the year ahead. I challenge all you reading this that let us make this a year to remember and if you are Ordeal member please come to one of the Brotherhood Bashes. (if eligible) If you guys have any suggestions about events throughout the next year feel free to contact your Chapter Chief or email me via Oalodgadvisor@wulapeju140.org Vice Chief of Administration Sam P. Hello everyone I'm really looking forward to this next year serving as your Lode Vice Chief of Administration. I am looking forward to hearing your ideas on how we can make resources more available and Troop Representatives more informed and I hope to see a whole bunch of you guys at the Lodge Leadership Development on October 12th Secretary Jakob H. Hello Brothers, I am Jakob H. I am going to be the Lodge Secretary for the next year. I would like to thank you all for giving me the opportunity to serve you as Secretary. A Brotherhood Bash is where we do the requirements, have the ceremony, and have fun. As secretary I plan to make Brotherhood Bashes more fun than they have been, while getting work done. For Brotherhood you have to memorize the signs of OA Membership, Advance in your understanding of the Ordeal, be an arrow man for 10 months, retain your registration and keep your dues paid, and write a letter to the Lodge Secretary. 3 You can find the rest of the requirements on the Order of the Arrow website. I also plan to educate non order members and Cub Scouts about the arrow, and teach arrow men how to run a Cub Scout den. Thank you all for voting me in as your lodge secretary for the next year. Treasurer Mark V. Also, for the new chapter officers there will be a LLD (Lodge Leadership Development), that must be attended by the officers or anyone wanting to come. The LLD will be at Rockford Career College at 9 am. Anyone who has a cool patch design for the lodge can e-mail anyone on the LEC your design to get brought up. Just include your name, so we can give you credit. That is all for now, and thank you for putting up with me for the past year and a half. Thank You and hope everyone enjoys this next year.

Elangomat? Attention all leaders: do you want to leave a legacy and make help guide the future of our lodge? Did you Ordeal have a significant impact on you? Finally, do you want to serve cheerfully in a way that few other lodges can? If you answered yes to any of these ques- EXAMPLE tions, you might want to consider being an Elangomat. An Elangomat is an incredibly prestigious position that only a few lodges offer. Basically, Elangomats volunteer to go back and redo their Ordeals in order to guide the next generation of Candidates and help them find the Arrow. Elangomats will be offered certain perks in the lodge such as free T-shirts available only to Elangomats and other privileges at the Conclaves and Fellowships. Sound new and exciting? That s because it is! If interested, then please contact us and leave some of your contact information. Have a happy summer in Cheerful Service!
