Chillicothe Sportsmen s Club Sight Picture September 2014 New Members: Lest We Forget - Enough Said Rodney Baker, William Bond, Brandon Cotellesco, Charles Egley, Brian Hunter, Paul McCaw, Brian Varcoe, Andrew Venturella, Nicholas Watson We welcome you to your club, and hope you enjoy your activities on the grounds. From Our Club President: I have accepted an offer from a firearm s manufacturing company based in a southern state to join their firm and will be moving before the end of this year. Although I will not miss Illinois, its numerous idiotic politicians, or the vicious winters, I will miss my friends and those who comprise the Chillicothe Sportsmen's Club. I have been a member for around 20 years, with four years on the Board of Directors and three years as president (2012 2014).

It has truly been an honor to serve on the board of directors and as president. We have some outstanding talent both on the board and among the ranks of our match directors, and collectively we possess a tremendous amount of forward momentum. I feel that together we have made significant progress during the past several years that is currently benefiting the membership and will continue to do so for years to come. We have a number of other projects planned for the future that will make our organization shine even brighter. Running and maintaining the club is a costly and involved endeavor that requires a lot of effort. It is also a personally rewarding experience. In order to maintain our successes and future vision, you must get involved. It's a sad but undeniable fact that many of our key players are getting along in years and will not be able to continue their present activities in years to come. The CSC will not survive without your participation. If you'd like to help preserve your organization for your sons and daughters, please contact any board member. Please don't sit back and think that 'someone else' will step up to the plate. YOU are the key to our organization's future success. Upon moving, our vice president, Derek Howald, will assume the role of president for the remainder of the year. Because Derek possesses the ability, drive and vision to help move our club forward, I hope that he will seek the presidency for 2015. If he does, I ask that you offer your support by voting for him during the annual meeting in November. Although my personal email address is going to change once I head south, my current phone number as listed within the CSC website will not. Once I have a new email address I will forward it to my friends. Keep up the great work, and God bless. Kevin Hutchison, President Work Hour Opportunities/Work Parties: Outdoor Work Party: The next work party will be on September 6, 2014 at 8:00 AM. We will be cleaning up trash and fallen tree limbs on all ranges. Bring rakes, shovels, and chain saws. We will need screw guns, saws, and hammers to make target frames.

Please note: All ranges will be closed until the conclusion of the work party (approximately 12:00 ) Contact Steve Schneckenburger at 309 692 7807 or 309 657 0170 for more information. Indoor Work Party Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 9:00 AM. Cleaning and maintenance of the clubhouse and indoor range will be conducted. Contact Bob Bjerke at 309 692 1800. Fall Gun Show September 27 28, 2014 Per our gun show directors Steve Risinger and Gordon Young: Help is needed for setup on Friday September 26 from 9:00 11:00 AM Dealer helpers 1:00 7:00 We need a few members to work at the door. Hours: 8:00 300 Saturday and Sunday 8:00 2:00 Call Steve at 309 208 1010. Kitchen help will be directed by Sharon Moushon, Pies and cakes can be donated for work hours. Show Hours: 8:30 AM 4:00 Saturday 8:30 AM 3:00 Sunday Cleanup and tear down Sunday 2:30 Hope to see you at the show, Steve and Gordon Trap Banquet: August 27 at 5:00. The cost is $18. Call Jerry at 309 360 6152 1911 Match held on July 26 25 Shooters Participated, and a positive return was made to our club financially. Thanks Kevin Hutcinson, Eric Hansen, Dan Dansby.

Raffles: The raffle opportunity to win a 1903A4 Springfield rifle is ongoing. 150 tickets will be sold at $20 each. Call Chris Bach 309 256 1712 or Bob Griffith 309 274 2068 (only a few tickets left). Look for an opportunity at the fall gun show. The Care Of Our Club Road: We would like to remind our members and guests that the road into our club is not the Dan Ryan expressway. It is posted at 20 mph for a very good reason. We have a substantial investment in this asset. It is not asphalt, and driving too fast will cause it to washboard. We thank you for your cooperation. Planning Team Update: Check out the new addition to the range house, this will better serve our members. Next are upgrades to the club roads and a major upgrade to range 7. Club Officers: President: Kevin Hutchison (309) 657 1518 Vice President: Derek Howald (309) 258 3116 Secretary: Donald Clemens (309) 274 6870 Treasurer: Lowell Bennett (309) 274 5586 chillisportsmen.org `
