COURSE DESCRIPTION Extremities in the Carolinas: Trauma for General Orthopedics is an advanced course for physician assistants and nurse practicioners who treat traumatic injuries of the extremities in adults and children. This course teaches the principles and techniques for management of extremity trauma and current concepts in surgical and non-surgical management. COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES Upon conclusion of this program, participants should be able to: Examine and apply basic scientific information and technical skills in orthopedic trauma Update knowledge regarding current evaluation and treatment of orthopedic trauma of the upper and lower extremities Review current practice management including proper coding, reimbursement, and state/national healthcare trends Develop new clinical and technical skills to improve delivery of healthcare to patients with upper and/or lower extremity trauma INTENDED AUDIENCE Physician assistants and nurse practicioners who practice in general orthopedics. CREDIT This program is provided by Physician Assistants in Orthopaedic Surgery. This program was planned in accordance with AAPA s CME Standards for Live Programs and Commercial Support of Live Programs. This program is not yet approved for CME credit. Conference organizers plan to request 19.00 AAPA Category I CME Credits from the AAPA Review Panel. The total number of approved credits is yet to be determined The online quiz to accompany program is not yet approved for CME credit.
