Choose Your Event Type The Answering TTP community is fundraising together to help answer TTP. This event was previously called the Walk to Answer TTP Together. Participating by walking (as in previous years) is still a great way to take part. The TTP Community is a small and geographically dispersed population. TTP Day is designed to enable everyone to help improve the prognosis for all TTP patients. In previous years this event was mandated to be a walk. This year we are trying something new to ensure everyone feels that they can participate. You can walk any distance, for 2 hours anywhere in the world, OR NEW you can fundraise another way (see next slide). This is your opportunity to be the change. Challenge yourself, organize an event or sell something. Everyone can contribute. 3
Choose Your Event Type All participants will be armed with a personal fundraising webpage to gather contributions toward their goal. NEW Participate Your Way 1. Challenge Yourself walk, bike, yoga... Raise funds by collecting donations via your unique fundraising page. 2. Organize an Event BBQ, concert, fashion show... Raise funds for TTP by asking for donations (collected via your unique fundraising page) and by donating all the proceeds. 3. Sell Something lemonade, art, t-shirts Raise funds for TTP by asking for donations (collected via your unique fundraising page) and by donating all the proceeds. Take care to provide interesting content within your communications to grab your audience s attention and prompt them to act. International TTP Day (September 15) What you do on event day depends on the type of event you have decided on. Those participating in a challenge (walk, bike, yoga ) or hosting an event (BBQ, concert, fashion show ) may decide to complete/host their event this day. No matter what fundraiser you have planned, this TTP Day provides a great reason to reach out to potential donors. After International TTP Day Update your donation page with photos and text Send thanks email to all supporters Submit your photos and video to Events@AnsweringTTP.org and post to our Facebook page. Final results of International TTP Day (this initiative) will be tallied on October 31. All donations to your event page will be tallied on this day. Ensure to have all your money in to count towards our final standings. 5

Awareness Tools Donation Page Sample blurb to invite people to visit your donation page: Dear [Insert Name], Have you heard of TTP? It is a medical emergency that can happen to anyone. It can rob you of your life. Do you know what it looks like? I didn't. In (insert year) it happened to (me/my family member/ my friend). (Insert a short version of your TTP story or that of a loved one here. Emphasize the need for research. E.g. One night, 6 years ago, doctors had lost hope that I could survive. My condition had been overlooked at a walk-in clinic and a major city-centre ER, but I did not give up. Now at a 2nd ER, I finally received a TTP diagnosis. But it had taken so long to be diagnosed, that my veins had collapsed. This made it next to impossible to provide me with lifesaving TTP treatment. Finally, thanks to a determined intern, the line was placed, giving me a chance to live. I feel lucky to be alive. TTP is too rare to make it economical for pharmaceutical companies to specialize research to find a cure. Your donation will improve the prognosis for all those with TTP. TTP is a medical emergency causing small blood clots and potentially fatal complications. Early diagnosis is key to survival. TTP can strike anyone, at any stage of life. Three in one million people are diagnosed each year. Symptoms include: fatigue, fever, diarrhea, chest pain, bleeding, dark urine, confusion, headaches, visual changes, bruising, purpura, petechiae.
