President s Page Dear Members, Happy October everyone! We are looking forward to our meeting coming up on October 25 th. It will be a good one that I hope you can all attend. Also, if the dates weren t already saved, please mark your calendars for the next meetings on: January 24th, April 25 th and June 13 th, all are Thursdays. The annual Legislative Breakfast meeting will be at Justin s Tuscan Grill again on March 1 st. We will have some awesome speakers, this year, that will revolve around sales, motivation, happiness and life, that we are excited for. As noted previously, the January 24 th meeting will be FREE TO ALL MEMBERS, as long as they bring a guest who is a non- member, both the member and non- member will be FREE. This meeting will be epic as we have in store some top- notch speakers; it will be so impactful for all who attend. Again, thank you all for what you do for your clients, your community, our CNY community, and for NAIFA! See you all in October! Andrew M. Schaffel President NAIFA- Syracuse

Richard Levy stands in the living room of his home in Syracuse. My life changed forever when I was forced to flee Nazi Germany as a young, Jewish boy. I was rescued through the extraordinary kindness of a British family in 1939. My life was saved. Over time, I developed the notion that I was set out to better the world through moral and ethical action. Inspired Giving: Richard Levy I decided to open a fund at the Community Foundation to provide for the causes that resonate with my own life experiences such as refugee resettlement, civil rights and healthcare. My fund makes it easy to facilitate my annual giving now. Leaving a portion of the proceeds of my estate to the fund allows this giving to continue even after I m gone. It gives me great comfort in knowing that my wishes will continue to help future generations facing their own challenges. since 1927 Read more of Richard s story at Levy.5forCNY.org cnycf.org (315) 422-9538

Dear NAIFA-Syracuse Members: Thank you so much for your support and membership! It is because of each one of you, I am excited to announce that we are able to continue to stay strong as a local NAIFA Chapter. We have 105 members and intend to grow more than 10% this year! We are very grateful for each one of you and value you. If anyone is in the fortunate position to become a benefactor, it will help in the following ways: Operating expenses: Charlotte is our Association executive and works hard to see that we have the best local NAIFA chapter. Representation: We will continue to have a face at the Albany and Washington annual meetings. Impactful meetings: Such as continuing to host the Syracuse Police awards breakfast meeting and have great speakers. Legislative Breakfast: This event has increased over the years and is a great way for our members to have meaningful discussions with the local representatives. These depend on the loving support you all give with your membership, and the benefactor program. For those that gave in the past to the benefactor program, thank you again, and for those able to give now, thank you in advance. Please join the 2018-2019 NAIFA-Syracuse Benefactors Program.
