September 2017 THE NATTER Hello everyone, Presidents Natter. The Trivia Quiz at our last Pub night was a huge success. Not as somber as University Challenge, in fact quite the opposite. So much hilarity and a lot of head scratching and muttering at the team tables. The questions weren t too hard bit no multiple choices and only one correct answer. Team names were The Pink Panthers, The Blue Uglies, Kermit the Green Frog and the Yellow Custard Dragon. A huge thanks to Susan Eadie for suggesting and organizing the quiz and to Brian Hughes for convening the quiz and marking the score sheets. The Garden party at our house was well attended and we had fun in the sun socializing and enjoying the splendid variety of salads brought by the partygoers to accompany the chicken and burgers. The desserts were in a class of their own and included 4 English trifles. The weather Gods cooperated, the music was a blend of old and new (with a bit of jazz mixed in) and everyone enjoyed the day. A huge thanks to everyone who was involved in the event. We love coming out to this Club night. Even when nothing is planned for the evening. Lovely evening. Thank you. Comments, which has been said many times by various people during the past year. Over the past years there s never been any shortage of volunteers who have stepped forward to help run the club. The various committees have put together a wide variety of activities and outings to keep us entertained and informed. Now the summer is in decline and the days are getting cooler, my thoughts turn towards finding the next group of people who will take the club forward into 2018. I m looking for 6 (or more) enthusiastic people to replace the present committee and to join Brian and Joan Hughes in forming the new committee. I would encourage you to think seriously about helping our club to continue providing the evenings with events and ideas, which prompted the above comments.
