Sample Prep Made Simple With more states approving recreational and medical marijuana use each year, the need for accurate testing of cannabis and cannabis based products is critical. Samples ranging from flower to edibles to consumer products and more present challenges in both sample preparation and analysis. Sample preparation is a critical step prior to analysis. Poor sample preparation can lead to inaccurate test results which could cause the product to be rejected or improperly released. CEM provides two systems to simplify sample preparation. The EDGE uses patented energy dispersive technology to rapidly and completely extract cannabinoids, pesticides, and terpenes prior to analysis by GC or HPLC. Most of these extractions are completed without user intervention in about 5 minutes compared to an hour or more with other techniques. Preprogrammed methods take all the guesswork out of method development. The MARS 6 is an easy to use microwave digestion system used to prepare samples for trace metals analysis. Utilizing a simple-to-use three piece digestion vessel, samples and acid are placed in the vessel and then into the digestion system. A single method is used to digest virtually anything from flower to oils to a wide variety of edibles and consumer products. All of these samples can be run together in a single batch providing the simplest and most cost effective solution available. Samples are then analyzed by ICP-OES or ICP-MS to determine the metals content. For over 40 years CEM has been dedicated to helping our customers analyze their products to ensure they meet regulatory and quality control requirements. As the leader in sample prep instrumentation, our dedicated team of applications chemists is always ready to help you with method development. Our expansive network of service associates will make sure your system is running in peak condition when you need it most. We are plugged into the changing regulations of the cannabis industry and are here to help you navigate through it all. We Are Where You Are Service and applications support is just around the corner. With over 60 associates in the United States and Canada and 24 hour telephone support we are here to help when you need it and where you need it.

Solvent Extraction The EDGE extraction system simplifies cannabis sample preparation for potency, pesticides, terpenes, and mycotoxins. The system can perform extractions in as little as 5 minutes in a highly reproducible format with the same extraction efficiencies as classic techniques like Soxhlet and QuEChERS. The heart of the EDGE centers around the Q-Cup, the sample cell that assembles in seconds and can be layered with salts, sorbents, and sample to perform both sample clean-up and extraction in a single automated step. In the 5 minute run, the EDGE performs sample clean-up, extraction, filtration, cooling, and a complete system wash, to eliminate carry-over, and produces a sample ready for analysis. Microwave Digestion The MARS 6 is the perfect digestion tool for the cannabis industry. The MARS 6 can simultaneously digest up to 40 samples all in the same batch. Digest edibles, cannabis flower, oils, and more in a single batch. The simple to assemble 3 piece MARSXpress 75 ml vessel does not require the use of tools and is large enough to digest up to 0.5 g of sample. The CEM applications team has been solving sample preparation problems for nearly 40 years. With a combined experience of over 00 years, our chemists are here to help and we never charge a fee for applications assistance. With CEM, our commitment to you does not end when your system ships, it begins! Digest Cannabis Plant Oils & Extracts Edibles Health & Beauty Products Soil Water 4
