The Story of Peace in Medicine Thank you for your interest in Peace in Medicine. We are a nonprofit, educational healing center and cannabis dispensary that provides a wide variety of classes and services aimed at helping people manage their own health. We offer many alternative healing modalities and classes, free or on a sliding scale. We host support groups for patients living with cancer or chronic pain and free classes for those wishing to grow their own medicine. We are a peer support network, and provide a meeting space for local nonprofit and environmental groups at no cost. We sponsor lectures by authors, hypnotherapists, energetic healers, and other alternative medicine experts. We have been lauded as a role-model facility for the dispensing of medical cannabis. Peace in Medicine was conceptualized in 2007 by Robert Jacob, a Sebastopol resident and activist. Robert envisioned a grassroots, community-based healing center that would provide a much needed nexus of support and resources for health-challenged residents to take control of their healing process. The response from the community in the form of volunteers, investors, and board members was inspiring. On October 2, 2007 Peace in Medicine opened its doors in Sebastopol, and opened a second location in Santa Rosa in the spring of 2011. In 2012, our founder Robert Jacob was elected to the Sebastopol City Council and appointed Mayor of Sebastopol in 2013. Peace in Medicine has received positive coverage as a model dispensary from Fortune magazine, the San Francisco Chronicle, the New York Times, CNN, Napa Register, the Associated Press, and many other media outlets. Sebastopol Police Chief Jeff Weaver was quoted as saying (that) Peace in Medicine runs a tight operation. There s been no vandalism. There s been no theft. There s no loitering. Because of our impeccable track record many city officials and entrepreneurs have sought the advice of Robert Jacob. Both of our facilities operate as non-profits and are run by a Board of Directors. Currently, we serve over 10,000 members. Our community-oriented facilities continue be a standard of excellence in patient access. We are proud of the community we live and work in and we show it. In our short existence Peace in Medicine has made charitable contributions and donations to many community organizations totaling $154,980.00, and we have paid $3,103,000.00 in taxes and licensing fees. Additionally, we put hundreds of thousands of dollars back into the local economy through our business relationships with vendors of products and services. Peace in Medicine is located in Sebastopol within the Gravenstein Station at 6771 Sebastopol Avenue and in Santa Rosa at 1061 North Dutton Avenue. Our hours of operation are Monday through Saturday from 11:00am to 7:00pm, and Sunday from 12:00pm to 7:00pm. A calendar of monthly events may be viewed at www.peaceinmedicine.org. All of Peace in Medicine s services are available to the general public, with the exception of dispensary access. Senior citizens, students, and U. S. Veterans are eligible for special discounts and we have a Compassion Program that offers free medicine to those critically ill patients on a limited or fixed income. 6771 Sebastopol Ave., #100, Sebastopol, CA 95472 Phone: 707.823.4206 1061 North Dutton Ave., Santa Rosa, CA 95403 Fax: 707.823.4212 www.peaceinmedicine.org info@peaceinmedicine.org

Our Mission Statement We are committed to providing alternative health resources in a safe, professional and compassionate environment. We advocate and support a proactive approach to health management by providing access to medical grade cannabis for qualified patients, as well as a variety of other services including therapeutic massage, acupuncture, yoga, guest speakers, peer counselors and educational materials on methods of alternative healing. We believe in a person s right to individual health empowerment through access and knowledge. To support this mission, Peace in Medicine is dedicated to offering access regardless of financial status and to providing informational materials designed to help members better understand how to meet their needs on their quest for optimal health. Our clientele come with a wide range of conditions including cancer, anorexia, AIDS, glaucoma, chronic pain, arthritis, insomnia, migraines, and anxiety, but all share a desire to be proactive in their healing process, health, and pain management through alternative means. We recognize the importance of community and our center is committed to serving not just our members, but our entire community through support of local organizations; for true health is maintained not just individually, but through combined community efforts and visions, as well. Find Peace in Medicine!

Affiliations As Peace in Medicine works to offer access to safe medicine for Sebastopol and West County residents, many others are working on a state-wide and national scale to see that the same access is afforded to all patients in need. Some of the industry affiliations we maintain with: Sonoma Alliance for Medical Marijuana Americans for Safe Access Students for a Sensible Drug Policy Law Enforcement Against Prohibition National Cannabis Industry Association Cannabis Action Network Medical Cannabis Association National Organization for Reform of Marijuana Peace in Medicine has always taken proactive role in regards to promoting the health and well-being of medical cannabis patients and providers. In 2014, Peace in Medicine is proud to announce their certification through Americans for Safe Access Patient Focused Certification which will bring a high level of standardized regulation to a previously self-regulated industry. Patients First Certification is a nonprofit, third party certification based on the new quality standards for medical cannabis products and businesses issued by the American Herbal Products Association. The certification will allow patients, caregivers, healthcare providers, companies and regulators a framework to identify reliable, high-quality medical cannabis products and services.
