2019 CONFERENCE SPONSORSHIP PACKAGE BEGINNING THE END OF HOMELESSNESS
Solving homelessness together The National Conference on Ending Homelessness is the annual gathering of a growing national movement of individuals, organizations, communities and governments working together to end homelessness in Canada. For decades homelessness in our country followed a relentless and lethal trajectory, increasing steadily year after year. That is until recently, when a small but growing number of Canadian cities like Calgary, Guelph, Hamilton, Medicine Hat and Red Deer began reversing this trend, showing that with a focused effort, homelessness could be reduced. Edmonton - the host of this year s conference - has had the most success of any major city in Canada having reduced homelessness by over 43% in the last 9 years. While major challenges remain, this success and a new era of federal leadership on housing places Canada on the verge of a national breakthrough on the road to ending homelessness. CAEH19 aims to accelerate Canadian progress toward ending homelessness The conference will arm policy makers, funders, researchers, advocates, community leaders and front-line workers with the inspiration, information, tools and training they need to end homelessness. Our program will include 83 concurrent sessions and six plenaries delivered by over 250 national and international experts to over 1,300 participants from across Canada. Our ambitious program includes, Reconciliation and Indigenous homelessness, chronic homelessness, youth homelessness, as well as homelessness for women and the latest in Canadian and international research. The conference will include eighty-four 90-minute sessions organized into 10 streams: 1. A Way Home Youth Homelessness AWH 2. Canadian Observatory on Homelessness Research and Policy COH 3. Coordinated Access CA 4. Health Care and Homelessness HCH 5. Housing First HF 6. Indigenous homelessness IH 7. Leadership, Planning and Practice LPP 8. Prevention P 9. Sponsorship is essential for us to deliver a world class but affordable conference for the people doing the critical work of ending homelessness in Canada.
