OUR STORY Established in 1999, Panda Cares is committed to serving the communities in which Panda Express operates. As the philanthropic arm of Panda Restaurant Group, Panda Cares provides food, funding and volunteer services to underserved youth and supports relief efforts during times of disaster. Giving back to the community begins with the deeply rooted values of our Co-Founders and Co-CEOs, Andrew & Peggy Cherng, who privately contribute to the health and education needs of communities throughout the country. OUR VISION Panda Cares vision is to empower youth to learn, lead and thrive for better lives. OUR MISSION Panda Cares brings hope to youth in need. Health Panda Cares is passionate about supporting organizations that provide charitable care, life-saving equipment, education for healthy living, and research for advanced health treatments for children. Education Panda Cares believes all youth deserve an opportunity to succeed. We help fund programs that focus on character building, academic success, college access and success for students across the nation. Through our grants, we have committed more than $51.4 Million since 2008, impacting over 976,000 students. 5 2018 PANDA CARES ANNUAL REPORT
PANDA CARES EDUCATION FOCUS Develop & prepare today s students to be tomorrow s leaders K-8 Character Building K-8 Academic Success High School College Access College College Success IN 2018 WE HELPED Character Building Academic Success Provided additional support to 102 existing schools to further empower students with the leadership and life-skills they need to thrive. To date, Panda has donated $41.3 Million to support 865 schools nationwide. Committed $1.5 Million for reading intervention programs for at-risk students in low income areas through one-on-one tutoring. Contributed $250 Thousand to spark a passion for reading by providing free books for 20,000 first-grade students from low income families. College Access Sponsored 61 college advisers at 57 high schools, committing over $2.1 Million to provide mentoring, guidance and leadership skills to high school seniors for college access. Provided $1 Million for 411 scholarships, ranging from $500 to $2,500 per student so they can successfully complete higher education. College Success Committed $5.1 Million to provide 400 students with 4-year scholarships, giving them equal access to a college education. Narrowed the gap in higher eduction for students with limited financial resources by committing $160 Thousand for two 4-year scholarships.
Food Donation Program Food is what we do best! Since 1999, our associates have volunteered more than 310,000 hours and served over 1.7 million hot meals to underserved youth. 7 2018 PANDA CARES ANNUAL REPORT

Disaster Relief IN 2018, A SERIES OF NATURAL DISASTERS IMPACTED PANDA EXPRESS GUESTS AND COMMUNITIES. OUR ASSOCIATES STEPPED IN TO COLLECT FUNDS FOR AFFECTED COMMUNITIES AND SERVED HOT MEALS TO FIRST RESPONDERS AND SHELTERS. When a natural disaster strikes, we share our time and resources to care for our impacted communities. We have contributed over $8.8 Million to disaster relief efforts since 2005. 9 2018 PANDA CARES ANNUAL REPORT
HURRICANE MICHAEL All donations collected through our in-store donation boxes in Florida, Georgia and Alabama from October 20th through November 13th were donated to Hurricane Michael relief efforts. The Panda Cares Foundation donated an additional $50,000 for a total of $230,565. Funds were distributed equally between our disaster relief partners, the American Red Cross and the Tzu Chi Foundation, who directly aid the victims most in need. TYPHOON YUTU All donations collected through our in-store donation boxes in Guam from November 1st through November 15th were donated to Typhoon Yutu relief efforts. The Panda Cares Foundation donated an additional $2,000 for a total of $7,010. Through our partnership with the American Red Cross, we were able to bring immediate relief to those affected. CALIFORNIA WILDFIRES Various communities across California were impacted by a series of wildfires in 2018. Fundraising IN 2018 WE RAISED A TOTAL OF $44.9 MILLION, BENEFITTING THE HEALTH AND EDUCATION NEEDS OF PANDA S COMMUNITIES. At Panda, we believe in giving back and sharing our blessings. 100% of all donations support youth in need ASSOCIATE GIVING Associate Giving Campaign Over 89% of our Support Center Associates, Regional, Area & Store Managers, Counter Help, and Cooks nationwide participated in our annual Associate Giving Campaign held in March, by donating a portion of their paycheck to their local Children s Miracle Network Hospital. $581,432 Raised through the Associate Giving Program GUEST GIVING In-Store Donation Program With the help of Panda Express Guests who contribute to Panda Cares year-round, In-Store Donation Program, we serve health and education needs of underserved youth, and disaster relief efforts during times of need. BUSINESS PARTNER GIVING Golf Tournament We celebrated our 20th Annual Panda Cares Charity Golf Invitational with a day of golfing, raffles and auctions. As our biggest fundraising event of the year, the tournament is an opportunity for our Business Partners and Panda Associates to come together, share our blessings and give back. WHEN I SEE THE LOVE AND PASSION THAT COMES FROM PANDA TO PUT THIS CHARITY GOLF TOURNAMENT TOGETHER, IT JUST MOTIVATES ME FURTHER. WE LOVE HAVING AN AVENUE LIKE THIS TO GIVE BACK. THE CAMARADERIE AND SPIRIT AT THIS EVENT AND THROUGHOUT THE YEAR IS UNPARALLELED.
