Tips from a Therapist SoundSuccess for developing confidence in real life communication Starting point for your expectations Helps start the dialogue with your hearing healthcare professional Helps you answer the question, How are things going for you? I feel confident with I really struggle with Gives guidance for where to start at the right level Reassures and builds confidence for real life

Tips from a Therapist Getting Started and Beyond Use the Hearing Goals sheet to help you determine your own personal needs. Make short term goals: e.g. I want to understand sentences in quiet. Make long term goals: e.g. I want to talk with my grandchildren on the phone. Establish time each day to work in Sound Success. Enlist an accountability partner (if that helps you) to make sure you are continuing to practice. Try not to become frustrated as tasks become more difficult. Work on the tasks in quiet and then add a little noise to make it more challenging. Remember where you started!

Insight from a deaf Audiologist SoundSuccess for developing confidence in real life communication Involve your communication partner You are learning a new language immerse yourself! May (still) need to remind people: eye contact before ear contact Before you start Is your equipment ready? Make sure your volume is set appropriately Remember that each person makes progress at their own pace

Insight from a deaf Audiologist Making the most out of your audiology appointments using SoundSuccess TM Put reminders in your phone to check in at least annually How are you doing? now you have an answer! Did you recently go bilateral? Share your results Can provide information to help adjust programming Are you seeing an improvement after adjustment? Do you notice any patterns? Male vs Female Voices Struggling in noise Sounds that consistently get confused Sounds that you like/don't like, hear/don't hear

Insight from a deaf Audiologist Use your various programs and/or accessories to connect!
