Make sure you have enrolled by December 15. New members can enroll anytime, but you will want to make sure you get your meetings in before the fair, also you can not register for certain state events until enrollment is finalized. If you have started your enrollment, but not completed please get those completed. For those paying by check you can make them out to Schuyler 4-H Council and mail them to the Extension office (PO Box 310, Lancaster) or drop them off at the office anytime between 8:30a and 5pm M-F. I can not send your background checks thru until these two steps are completed. Now is a good time to get started on your project record forms. One of the first steps in it is to set goals. From February 1-28, 4-Hers across Missouri will engage in a friendly service competition to see which clubs can contribute the greatest amount of food, donations and volunteer hours. They ll have an opportunity to organize and/or participate in food drives, fundraising, volunteerism and educational outreach to learn about hunger and food insecurity. Stay tuned for more information! In the meantime, please consider including educational opportunities about hunger and food insecurity during club meetings and other events leading up to the February drive. Included on the 4-H Feeding Missouri webpage is a resource section that features a 4-H: Empowering Youth to End Hunger in Their Communities Toolkit with ready-made activities for youth to learn about this topic. You can draw from this resource to help youth learn about hunger and food insecurity. New Award Resources Teresa Bishop How-to videos for State Excellence Forms Levels 1, 2 and 3 are now available on the 4-H Website. Thank you to Karla Deaver for creating these videos and making them available to everyone. You can find the videos listed at http://4h.missouri.edu/peercompetition.aspx under each level. There is also a video on how to fill out your project record form. It is located under the project record form link at http://www.4h.missouri.edu/resources-forms.aspx

Thanksgiving is November 22! Have a happy and safe holiday! This year the National Youth Science Day (NYSD) topic is Code Your World. The November Family S.T.E.M. Nite will take place on the 20th from 6pm to 7pm at the Glenwood Full Gospel Fellowship Hall (old post office in Glenwood).
