Welcome Message Dr. Harald zur Hausen Dear Fellows As a member of organizing committee of the 4 th World Congress on Virology at San Antonio, Texas, USA from October 06-08, 2014, it is my pleasure to welcome you to this important event. We expect that this decade will see substantial advances in the field of Virology. My own work in the area of viruslinked cancers, in particular HPV 16 and HPV 18 showed us the potential in this field. Thus,I would like to make a few remarks on the important stream topics of the conference. Virology explores the nature of the viruses and their structure and assembly, viral genome replication and regulation of gene expression, genetic diversity and evolution, virus-cell interactions, cellular responses to infection, transformation and oncogenesis, gene delivery, viral pathogenesis and immunity, and vaccines and antiviral agents. The viral infection causes changes in the cell, particularly in its antigenicity; moreover, directing the host cell s metabolism to the production of new virus particles may cause cellular death. Virally-induced cell death, changes in antigenicity and the response of the host to the presence of the virus leads to the manifestations of viral disease. Therefore, it is very useful to bring together experts from the field of Virology for discussions of the latest advances and ideas, and to stimulate interdisciplinary interactions. Conferences like this one may help to speed up the development of effective therapies for viral Disorders. In this part OMICS Group Conferences doing an excellent job towards bringing efficient scientists all around the world to a common platform to discuss various streams in Virology. Am very happy and delighted to participate at this event and anticipate interesting discussions with my colleagues at San Antonio in Once again am delighted to invite you to take part in this conference. Regards Harald zur Hausen Nobel Prize Winner for Medicine in 2008
