PRESCHOOL ACADEMY Ages 2-5 Year-round Monday - Friday 6:30AM - 6:00PM With the increased focus on early brain development, families need all the support they can get to nurture the potential of every child. That s why child care and early learning programs at the Y focus holistically on nurturing child development by providing a safe and healthy place to learn foundational skills and develop healthy trusting relationships. Children learn to build self-reliance through the YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. The YMCA is a Voluntary Prekindergarten provider The Florida Voluntary Prekindergarten Education Program (VPK) is designed to prepare 4-yearolds for kindergarten and build the foundation for their educational success. All children who turn 4 on or before September 1, 2019, and reside in Florida are eligible to attend a VPK program. In addition to registering for Bardmoor YMCA Preschool Academy, you must register for the VPK program through the Florida s Early Learning family portal at elcpinellas.net. Children must be listed on a family membership. $15/child $10/each additional child KID FIT AGES 3 & UP Tuesday & Thursday 6:15-6:45PM Saturday 10:15-10:45AM This class is designed to get kids moving and active while having fun increasing their cardio endurance. We incorporate basic aerobic exercises as well as physical activities to get their hearts pumping and interests engaged. Kid Fit is ideal for all children! KidZone, gymnasium and back field Free for YMCA Members HOMEWORK HELPERS AGES 5-12 Monday - Friday 4:00-5:00PM Short on time? Let our YMCA staff assist your child with their homework, daily reading logs and studying. BIRTHDAY PARTIES Celebrate your child s birthday and leave the work to us. From setup to cleanup we handle it all! Birthday parties include 2 hours in our facility and a YMCA Party Coordinator. Party pricing includes the birthday child and up to 15 guests. Work with a trainer to reach your personal goals and meet new people. BENCHES & BARBELLS Move out of your comfort zone and push yourself. This class is for women who are looking to learn the ins-and-outs of the Wellness Floor while being introduced to weights and general strength conditioning. BOOT CAMP This is a no-frills workout! Boot Camp uses a combination of weight training, cardiovascular and plyometric exercises. It is designed to burn fat, increase endurance and provide you with the energy you need to power through the day! BALANCE & STABILITY Become stronger and improve your balance! Movements taught will focus on specific exercises to improve strength and power around the ankle, knee and hip joints, while improving reaction time. This class is designed for fall-prevention, suitable for nearly every fitness level and can be adapted depending your skill level. ENHANCE FITNESS Enhance Fitness is nationally recognized by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the National Council on Aging. Enhance Fitness treats arthritis and joint issues through fun, low impact classes that promote friendship and laughter. This senior fitness program focuses on strength, balance and movement which helps older adults stay more active, energized and independent. Space is Limited - Registration Required. This is a 16-week session featuring low impact group fitness with classes three (3) times per week. Complimentary fitness assessments, taken pre- and post-program, will be offered so participants can track their progress. LIVESTRONG AT THE YMCA LIVESTRONG at the YMCA is a physical activity and well-being program designed to help adult cancer survivors achieve your holistic health goals. This research-based program offers a safe, supportive environment to participate in physical and social activities focused on strengthening the whole person. This is a free 12-week program for cancer survivors or family members and is open to the community. BLOOD PRESSURE SELF-MONITORING According to the American Heart Association, nearly 80 million adults have high blood pressure and less than half of those individuals have it under control. High blood pressure is a key, modifiable risk factor for both heart disease and stroke. The YMCA Blood Pressure Self-Monitoring Program helps adults to lower and manage their blood pressure. This 4-month program focuses on regulated blood pressure self-monitoring, individualized support and nutrition education from a highly-trained Healthy Heart Ambassador. YMCA DIABETES PREVENTION PROGRAM If you are at risk for type 2 diabetes, the YMCA Diabetes Prevention Program provides a supportive environment where you can work in a small group setting to learn healthy habits to reduce your chances of developing the disease. New classes start Thursday, January 31 at 5:30PM at Bardmoor YMCA. YMCA WEIGHT LOSS PROGRAM This program is designed to help people seeking a healthier weight to achieve their goals through small, modest changes to their daily behaviors to form sustainable, healthy habits through self-designed action plans. Participants will meet with a group and a trained lifestyle coach for 12 weeks for one hour. Weekly discussion topics include: creating a supportive environment, goal setting, balanced eating, physical activity, positive psychology and sustainability.
