How are children and young people doing in the Ards and North Down Locality?
Outcome 1 : Physically and Mentally Healthy Percentage of Mums Smoking during Pregnancy (2014) The table on the left shows the comparative percentages between outcomes groups and Northern Ireland. The chart above shows an increase in the percentage of mums smoking during pregnancy in the top five worst areas As you can see the top five areas in the Ards and north down area exceed the Trust areas and NI averages

The chart above shows a sharp decline in 0-2years dental registrations in the Holywood Priory from 39 in 2013 to 25 in 2014. Whitespots saw a decrease of 48% in 2012 to 25% in 2014.

Loughview area has experienced an increase in the percentage of young people with less than 85% school attendance since 2013. years and saw a rise in school attendance from 9.5 to 11 in 2014.

Outcome 4 : Economic and Environmental Wellbeing Number of families with children presenting to NIHE as homeless Bangor and Newtownards have had an increase in the number of families with children presenting to the NIHE as homeless over the last two years (2013/15)
Outcome 4 : Economic and Environmental Wellbeing Percentage of children living in absolute low income poverty after household costs The Ards and North Down areas have experienced an increase in the percentage of families with children in absolute low income poverty after household costs. These trends have continued to increase since 2007/10 to present. (4 year trend)
Outcome 4 : Economic and Environmental Wellbeing Lone parents claiming income support The North Down area has experienced a sharp increase in lone parents claiming income support of which has exceeded the Northern Ireland average since 2007. The Ards area has saw an increasing percentage of lone parents claiming income support since 2012.
