Website Description of My Psychotherapy-Coaching Practice About Dr. Stroebe's Work I have come to see myself as a "Renaissance Psychologist," yet in the making, a Jacqueline of many trades, master of some, and, when appropriate, a referrer to resources and expert-others. With training as a scientist and a clinician in my beloved psychology, I bring skills and knowledge from far corners of the field, hoping to help. For more than a quarter of a century in clinical practice, and for an even longer period, blessed with the wisdom of elders and life s experiences, I have been assembling a psychological toolbox. It contains, among other things, ideas from diverse schools of thought different ways of perceiving healthy skepticism a variety of therapeutic techniques from Cognitive-Behavioral tools to Psychodynamics insights to Hypnosis & Imagery self-criticism and the intent to maintain rigorous standards (yet) an openness of mind and in heart, the spirit and support of creativity. These tools are not used to fix others; rather they let me work to the best of my ability, to assist in custom designing new tools for each client. That is, my ultimate goal is to help each individual, couple or family best help themselves. I have been honored to work with a great variety of people: of different age groups, ethnic backgrounds/races, physical abilities, social class backgrounds, sexual orientations and gender identities. What I know from this work is the importance of culture as well as individuality, and knowing how much one doesn't (and cannot) know. I believe it's important to recognize what we all share as humans how we are similar to some and different from others how we differ from all others and are uniquely individual Although I have a very general practice, I ve been drawn to work most with grief, loss, stressful transitions, relationship difficulties, blocked creativity and productivity, fears and anxiety, and interpersonal communication.

Website Description -- Consulting to Business. Business, with a Psychological Edge. Dr. Stroebe s background and services for business: o Companies, o Organizations, o Individuals. Background: My career has taken me into the worlds of psychological service and those of business. My combined experiences, skills, and knowledge allow me to work with what I like to call Business with a Psychological Edge: a good thing in today s competitive, rapidly- changing environment. After completing my Ph.D., I worked for Chevron. Although located in Public Affairs, my boss and I were in charge of research throughout the corporation: from marketing and advertising to product testing to public opinion. It was a difficult decision to leave Chevron, especially for the arduous years (of supervised clinical practice and exams) required to become a Licensed Psychologist. And, after 25 years as a Licensed Psychologist, I can admit, it takes at least ten years to develop true understanding and talent. But I can now bring this back to business to help in ways I never could before. Psychological perspectives can be applied to all problems, and creative psychologists can create and provide solutions. Give us a try! Below are my specialties, but feel free to call even if you don t see your issues on the list. You may be surprised at what we uncover. Research including Qualitative: Individual interviews; Triads; Focus groups Executive Management Consulting - Coaching Trouble-shooting/problem "diagnosis" Common Issues: o Cultural Issues, here & abroad. o Diversity e.g., Race, GLBT o Digital Natives v. Digital Immigrants o Loss and Transitions: Lay-Offs, Mergers o Work Relationships, Conflict, Communication o Stress/Anxiety at work o Blocked Creativity/Productivity
