We appreciate all our PTA members and volunteers! 2018-2019 PTA Volunteer Sign-Up An effective and successful PTA requires support and involvement of our students families. IT IS VITAL! How can YOU make a difference? JOIN THE HARDYSTON PTA. By becoming a member, you become a voice for the school and your child. Attending PTA meetings is your outlet to express your concerns, ideas and stay informed. PARTICIPATING in the numerous events and programs we have planned throughout the year is a great way to show your support. In order to run our PTA programs, we depend on our volunteers! You may choose to be a committee chair, a volunteer, donate food or make monetary donations to events. Whatever level of participation you choose; your time and involvement is greatly appreciated. We know how busy life can be, but whether you have 30 minutes or a couple of hours in or outside of school; your ideas, your time, and your talents are truly needed. The time you give to the PTA and the school will be worth your while and so much fun! *Please consider volunteering, it really does make a difference in the lives of all our children, and the children love to see their parents/grandparents/aunts/uncles participating in events at school* Below is a list of events for the upcoming school year; several events need chairs and/or co-chairs. Please review carefully and select the events that interest you. Write your name in the space provided if you would like to chair an event that needs a chair. If you think would like to volunteer, check the box beside the event; you will be put on the list of volunteers and the event chairperson will contact you and you can decide your level of participation from there, it is completely up to you! HOSPITALITY - Chair: Co-Chair: Peggy Van Ginneken Hospitality provides refreshments for certain school events throughout the year, along with assisting chair people when they are lacking donations for their events. If you re unable to volunteer your time, but would still like to be involved, the is perfect for you! You are asked to donate baked goods, drinks, etc. If you do not have time to shop or bake, you can offer a cash donation and Hospitality chairs will do the shopping for you. *Any donations, big or small are very helpful! * ES BOOK FAIR 10/5; 10/9-10/12/18 Chair-people: Sue Ploch; Sue McCallum; Children are brought to the Library by classroom to browse and purchase Scholastic Books. Volunteers help children select books and write up their orders. Please check the school in which you would like to volunteer. GLO-STICKS 10/29-10/31/18 Chair: Toni Drelik Glo-Sticks are purchased and sold to the students during lunch for 3 days prior to Halloween. Volunteers assist in selling the glo-sticks during the 3 different lunch hours. We try to accommodate the lunch of your choice. HALLOWEEN TRUNK OR TREAT & FALL FESTIVAL 10/26/18 Hosted by the PTA Board We provide a fun & safe trick or treating experience for your children. The PTA provides a table of treats and volunteers are asked to donate cookies, popcorn or chips to be given out by our Hospitality Chair. TGIF 11/16/18; 2/8/19 & 5/3/19 Chair: Danielle Romeo This is a super special night for our 3 rd & 4 th graders that occurs 3 times during the year. Volunteers are asked to volunteer their time to supervise and play with the kids that evening! 7-9PM KRISPY KREME DONUT SALE 11/13-12/20/18 Chair: Erin Ashton Our yummiest fundraiser yet! Volunteers are asked to help distribute the donuts at the ES when they come in. HOLIDAY BAZAAR (ES) 12/3-12/7/18 Chair: Amy Beck Co-Chair: Erica Lamphear Students have fun purchasing holiday gifts for family and friends. Volunteers help setup/cleanup and/or assist the children with their purchases. We do our best to accommodate the day/time of your choice. COOKIES & MILK WITH SANTA 12/14/18 Chairs: Erin Ashton & Joanna Violante A fun night for our elementary school kids having cookies and milk and their photo taken with SANTA! Volunteers are asked to help set up, clean up and/or donate to the event. HARDYSTON FAMILY FUN NIGHT 1/25/19 Chairs: Holly Romahn A super fun evening for kids and parents including bouncy houses, games, dancing, food, desserts and drinks. WINTER SOCIAL 3/22/19 Chair: Anna Conklin A themed night of fun, singing, dancing, games and more! Volunteers are needed to help setup/cleanup, donate food/drinks, or help that evening. 6-9PM. CANDY SALE 3/4-4/1/18 Chair: Kellie Federico Our spring fundraiser! Volunteers are asked to help distribute candy orders in the ES All-Purpose Room. STAFF APPRECIATION WEEK; ES 5/6-5/10/19 Chair: Chair: Each day the teachers lounge is filled with refreshments to show our appreciation for our teachers and staff! Chairperson organizes the event and asks volunteers to donate food/drinks and/or help setup/cleanup each day.

BUS DRIVER APPRECIATION - TBD Chair: Joanna Violante Co-Chair: Peggy Van Ginneken A lovely breakfast for our bus drivers to show how much we appreciate them getting our children to and from school safely. Chairperson organizes the event and volunteers are asked to donate breakfast items (i.e. bagels, juice, Danish, etc.) and/or help set-up, serve and clean up. 4 th GRADE BREAKFAST Date TBD Chair: Colleen Irish Co-Chair: A special breakfast shared with our 4 th graders after their moving up ceremony before we send them off to Middle School! Chairperson organizes event and volunteers donate food/drinks or other items and/or help setup/cleanup. Perfect for a 3 rd grade parent to chair along with a 2 nd Grade parent co-chair who can chair the following year! 8 th GRADE BREAKFAST Date TBD Chair: Chair: A special breakfast shared with our 8 th graders before we send them off to High School! Volunteers are asked to donate food/drinks or other items and/or help setup/cleanup. Perfect for a 7 th grade parent to chair along with a 6 th grade parent co-chair who can chair the following year! TRICKY TRAY 4/12/19 Chair: Gina Woodbury Chair: This is the Hardyston PTA s BIGGEST fundraiser of the year! Volunteers are asked to collect donations, wrap baskets and/or help setup/cleanup the night of the Tricky Tray! We have several committees for this event including; (Please check the committee you are interested in heading or volunteering) o Soliciting Committee; Online Soliciting & Business to Business Soliciting to ask for donations o Basket Wrapping Committee o Hospitality Committee; Sell soda/water/chips/pizza; maintain coffee & tea station etc. the night of the event o Advertising Committee; Advertising in Newspapers/Tricky Tray Websites making a Flyer and posting it in Supermarkets, Restaurants, etc. (with their permission), Making signs and putting them in busy intersections and near other schools, churches, community centers and other businesses. o Ticket Selling Committee; Handle the ordering of different colored tickets, Discuss with Head Committee as to how tickets will be packaged and sold, Give a sheet of tickets to families who provide a wrapped basket, Organize ticket sellers (usually teachers sell tickets) o Set-Up/Clean-Up Committee We would love ideas and input from our members, please let us know what you would like to help the PTA do for our school and students this year!
