Westlake Yachting Club On the Black River Lorain, Ohio Newsletter September 2013 Commodore Robert Coffman ANNOUNCEMENTS MEETING REMINDER WYC s Monthly Meeting September, 11 at 7:00 PM Location: Wheelhouse The Monthly meetings are open to every member of Westlake Yachting Club. All members are encouraged to attend. 2013 Officers & Trustee s Commodore: Robert Coffman V/Commodore: Norman Heppner R/Commodore: John Lively Treasurer: Secretary: Trustee s: Ray Cogdell James Forberger Lawrence Nagy Capt. John Gilles Ruth Ann Jacops Joyce Rhodes The year is rapidly coming to an end and the final cruise is here. With the end of the season, come the final events of the year at the Wheelhouse. R/C Lively and V/C Heppner have put on some great events this year with excellent entertainment. We have seen many new faces this summer as well. If you have not been to any of the events this year I would encourage you to come to the reverse raffle and the clam bake to finish out the year. It is also that time of year again. Election time! If you or anyone you know are interested in running for one of these positions, please let me or any other board member know as soon as possible. It is a very rewarding experience and the club is in need of new perspectives that come from its newest board members. The October meeting will be here before you know it. Sincerely, Bob Coffman Commodore Vice Commodore Norman Heppner Rear Commodore John Lively Another month just flew by and we're getting too close to the end of boating season. We tried a couple of new events in August and both were very successful. The Luau party was an incredibly good time and I applaud those that competed in the Limbo contest. Wonder how they felt the next morning??? We also had a Cleveland Browns Tailgate Party, it's a good thing we showed up, they certainly didn't. In spite of the score we all had fun. I want to thank everyone that helped with both events and congratulate those that won contests and raffles. We have tickets on sale now for the Spaghetti Dinner/Reverse Raffle on 9-14 and the Clambake/ Silent Auction on 9-28. See Teri in the Wheelhouse or any board member for tickets. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone at the upcoming events and if you have any questions or comments don't hesitate to call. Thanks R/C John Lively 440-679-1437
