Explore current approaches to primary and revision hip arthroplasty This intensive, hands-on surgical skills course provides a current approach to preoperative planning and execution of both primary and revision hip arthroplasty. Enhance your surgical skills and learn the latest techniques in hip reconstruction in a unique lab setting with small-group cadaveric sessions. Highlights include decision-making for managing postoperative problems, including fracture, dislocation, infection and algorithms for identifying adverse local tissue reactions. Course highlights include: Preoperative patient optimization Matching patient characteristics with implant design choices and optimizing bearing options Small group case discussions Discussion and demonstration of various surgical approaches including direct anterior (with and without specialized tables), direct lateral, and posterior hip approaches Surgical approaches including osteotomies of the femur to facilitate exposure and component implantation Planning for outpatient THA Who should take this course?
