Our Sense Organs Ears Name: Class: Date: Ears enable people to hear things and to keep balance. This boy can hear with his ear. This boy s ears help him to balance. The ear has three parts: 1. The Outer Ear - Receives the sounds. - The ear canal is the passage which the sound travels through into the middle ear. 2. The Middle Ear - The eardrum vibrates or shakes the sound and sends the signal to the inner ear. 3. The Inner ear - The vibrations go into the cochlea..the cochlea is snail shaped and filled with liquid..the inside walls of the cochlea are covered with little hairs called receptors. - When the liquid in the cochlea vibrates it touches receptors which send the sound to the brain through the auditory nerve. auditory nerve Sound goes in here. ear drum cochlea ear canal. outer ear middle ear inner ear Grade 3 Test 1 2017 Science Worksheet 2
