Join us for our annual Potluck Supper at the United Church on Tuesday, September 27 starting at 6:00 pm. Bring a food to share (we will provide drinks) and story to tell! Every quilt has a story, and we would like to hear one of your quilt stories. It could be a UFO, an old family quilt, your first quilt, a quilt that gave you a frustrating challenge, or a quilt that was made for a special occasion. If you can bring the quilt, we want to hear your story!

A NOTE From fran: Wow! It s September 27 -- we re ready to have our Pot Luck dinner and start signing up for membership for the year 2012! On September 27 th, we will start our Pot Luck Dinner at 6:00pm at the United Church in Los Alamos. Please bring a main dish, dessert, or salad to share, we will provide drinks. It will be a good night to enjoy each other s company and then share a story about our quilts. A quilt that is a UFO, an old family quilt, your first quilt, a quilt that gave you a frustration challenge, or a quilt that was made for a special occasion. If you can, bring the quilt to show also. We all have those stories, let s have a fun night and share them with each other. Our September meeting is also the time to start signing up for membership for the year 2012! The membership fee is still $25. You may either send in your membership form filled in to our PO Box address or give your payment to Ann Daley, this year s Membership chair person. Also with our September meeting, members of our Guild need to think about stepping forward and saying they will be one of our new leaders for the year 2012. As you all know this is the last year for ALL of your Board members and ALL Chair persons. All volunteers are appreciated, loved, and cherished by all the rest of the Guild. Working as a team, it s easy to guide our meetings, etc and quilters are wonderful team players. The enjoy helping each other solve quilting problems and we receiving the help, thank those giving us it. Each of these positions is important to our Guild. Without them being filled, we may not have a LOS ALMOS PIECEMAKERS GUILD! Looking forward to seeing you all (bring a friend to share our evening!) on September 27 th Pot Luck Dinner and Story Telling night! Fran Report from the library committee: The Library committee still has used books that will be for sale at the September meeting. The cost of the books is about 10% of the cover price so they are a really good deal. These are books we have culled from the library. There are still 87 books in the library. There are books and videos that are missing and unaccounted for so check your shelves to see if you have a library book or video. If you wish to keep what you have, you may choose to buy it for 10% of the listed price. We will not be acquiring new books this year, but will accept ideas from members for new books next year. The library committee will meet two more times to sort and catalog the remaining books as well as to make sure each book has a check out card in it. Books may be checked out for three months at a time. The library will be available at United Church meetings only starting in November. Evonne Holder
