I have been tracking this what I call the Thanksgiving snub for years. Every Halloween night right after handing out candy is finished, come inside flip on the TV, what do you see? Commercials for Christmas; what happened to Thanksgiving, turkeys, cornucopias? You can rest assured your local NAIFA chapter will celebrate Thanksgiving. November 17 th is the date for our meeting at Kenwood Country Club. Please remember to bring some non-perishable can foods, if you wish, make a cash donation for the Free Store Food Bank where every dollar donated is equal to $8.00 of food - just another community service opportunity we offer. or In addition to the Free Store Food Bank, we also have some volunteer opportunities for Shriner s hospital. Every year they have something called The Christmas Ranch Please contact Gail Doll for volunteer opportunities. We have tried to incorporate some of these events to work instead of writing a check, as it seems we do this time of year. We have an exciting line up for this month s meeting. First of all, Jeff Mohr will be moderating our CE for this month. He will talk about how to draft a comprehensive plan to protect business owners. Once again, I encourage you to stay for our lunch meeting that will feature Larry Watson, The Results Now Coach. Always good to pick up a new idea or two from these sessions. I just want to give you an update on our October YAT event. We had Zach Ball with an impressive talk about how he started and runs his business. If you are a YAT, or know someone who is, please get involved with this program. There are some really good career advancement and networking opportunities. Thanks to all those who helped in setting up this event. I look forward to seeing everyone on the 17 th. Please feel free to bring a guest, introduce them to NAIFA. Share with them all the things NAIFA does to support our business. Tony

Personal care items needed are soap, shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste/brush, hygiene products, and disposable diapers. No glass items, please! We will also be accepting monetary donations. Page 6 The Christmas Ranch, one of the largest holiday light displays in the region, has partnered with Shriners Hospitals for Children Cincinnati. We are very excited about working with Shriners Hospital for Children as we celebrate the season of giving. Christmas is all about children and these special little ones need all the love and support we can give them, said Michael Fuchs, a local dentist and owner. A portion of the proceeds from The Christmas Ranch will go directly to Shriners Hospitals for Children. The Christmas Ranch got its start 20 years ago when Dr. Fuchs and his family turned their Symmes Township residence into an elaborate Christmas display. By 2006, the house had been featured on HGTV, and crowds were enormous. As the displays grew and Dr. Fuchs wanted to spread even more holiday cheer, Dr. Fuchs purchased The Dude Ranch in Morrow, Ohio, and converted it to The Christmas Ranch. The 110-acre ranch is 10 minutes north of Kings Island. It features a Christmas village with over 350,000 dancing lights, beautiful holiday music, retail shops, train displays, pictures with Santa and much more. The Christmas Ranch opens the day after Thanksgiving and runs through New Year s Eve. With all this activity, volunteers are needed to assist every day to direct traffic, work in the retail shops and keep the bonfire going! It is a wonderful opportunity for church/youth groups, scout troops, and families to share the holiday spirit with the community and help Shriners Hospitals for Children at the same time. Please contact Gail Doll if you are able to volunteer on December 10th, 2016.
