The Winter Flight of the Arrow

Wulapeju Lodge 140, Winter 2013 Flight of the Arrow A Letter from Lodge Chief Nick M. Hello Wulapeju Arrowmen! The holiday season is coming up, and with that, we have some exciting events to come. As many of you know, our Winter Banquet will be happening very soon, and just as we did last year, we are hoping to get some baskets together to auction as a fundraiser for NOAC. Even though it is over a year away, we want as many people as possible to experience the great time that is NOAC, so we are hoping to make the trip as affordable as possible. Ideally, we would like the cost of NOAC to be under $300 per person. This is an extremely lofty goal, but with your help, we can make this happen. If you have anything to donate to the baskets, such as patches, OA memorabilia, or other items, your Chapters would love to put that in a basket. In This Issue A Letter From Lodge Chief Nick M. About The Flight of The Arrow From the Lodge Executive Committee From the Chapters Elangomat Information NOAC 2015 Silent auction Winter Banquet Registration 2 2 3 4 5 5 6 Other than that, don't forget to attend Chapter meetings, and if you can, come to the LEC's that happen every second Saturday of the month. Thank you, and have a great winter! About the Flight The Flight of the Arrow is a seasonal newsletter devoted to events and news in Wulapeju Lodge. This newsletter is available to all active Order of the Arrow members in the lodge and is distributed to all registered, due-paying brothers. All information about future lodge events and registration, including banquets, conclaves, fellowships, and yearly membership renewal, will be included in this newsletter as available, along with messages and letters from individual chapters as well as members of the Lodge Executive Committee. Keep up with us! 7 Wanted 7 Winter C.O.C. 7 In our next issue 2014 Dues Form 8 2

Vice Chief of Administration Sam P. Hello everybody I hope you all had a great past few months. I was really happy to see many of you at the LLD this past October and I'm looking forward to seeing ton of you guys at the Winter Banquet in a few weeks. Once again I'm really happy to be working with all of you to make our lodge better. If you have any suggestions on how the lodge could be better please feel free to tell me so I can make sure that your ideas are heard and incorporated into the lodge. Once again I look forward to seeing all of you at the winter banquet in Monroe and I wish you all Happy Holidays & a great New Years. 3 Secretary Jakob H. Talk to your chapters and find out when your brotherhood bashes are. A brotherhood bashes is a great way to do your brotherhood and have fun doing it. My term as the Gokhos Chapter Chief is going well we have an average of 40 people at every meeting! I am having a fantastic time as the Gokhos Chief and hope to have even more success throughout the chapter in my term. Our chapter meets the 1st Wednesday of every month at the Main Lodge at Camp Lowden. I would like to have a quick shout out to Rick Rhoads for helping me get comfortable in my position as chapter chief. I hope to see you all at the next few lodge events. Kishwaukee Mark H. Elangomat? Attention all leaders: do you want to leave a legacy and make help guide the future of our lodge? Did you Ordeal have a significant impact on you? Finally, do you want to serve cheerfully in a way that few other lodges can? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you might want to consider being an Elangomat. An Elangomat is an incredibly prestigious position that only a few lodges offer. Basically, Elangomats volunteer to go back and redo their Ordeals in order to guide the next generation of Candidates and help them find the Arrow. Elangomats will be offered certain perks in the lodge such as free T-shirts available only to Elangomats and other privileges at the Conclaves and Fellowships. Sound new and exciting? That s because it is! If interested, then please contact us and leave some of your contact information. Have a happy summer in Cheerful Service! For More Information Email OaLodgeadvisor@Wulapeju140.org Silent Auction To benefit NOAC 2015 Contingent at Winter Banquet Gift baskets and various other objects, made or acquired by your local chapters will be up for silent auction before the Winter Banquet to benefit the NOAC Contingent. This will be done to lower the overall price per person and increase the amount of members that will attend The National Order of the Arrow Conference (NOAC) is the premier event of the Order of the Arrow, and is Scouting's second-largest national event. Over 10,000 Arrowmen from across our nation gather for an inspirational and unforgettable experience full of fellowship, training, adventure, and fun! Source (http://event.oa-bsa.org/events/n2015) 5
