Zika Symptms Only 1 in 5 infected peple have symptms. Symptms start within 2 weeks f being bitten by an infected msquit r having sex with an infected persn. Symptms are usually mild: slight fever, skin rash, jint aches and pains, red and itchy eyes. Rare prblems include the spread f Zika t the brain and spinal chrd r Guillain Barré Syndrme (which can cause paralysis and breathing prblems). Returning travelers and their partners shuld use precautins t prevent sexual transmissin and adverse utcmes related t pregnancy.
