September 2010 Dear Colleague BRITAIN AGAINST CANCER 2010 A new cancer strategy, a new NHS making it work I am writing to invite you to participate in the Britain Against Cancer Conference 2010, hosted by the All Party Parliamentary Group on Cancer. Britain Against Cancer has become an annual event in Westminster. For over a decade it has successfully brought together patients, health professionals and policy-makers to look at the impact of public policy on cancer services and research. The Coalition Government has set out the most significant programme of healthcare reform in a generation. The refresh of the Cancer Reform Strategy, the publication of the Health White Paper, and the Palliative Care Funding review, will impact considerably upon cancer research and the delivery of cancer services across the country. Britain Against Cancer 2010 will provide you with an opportunity to hear from the decision-makers driving these reforms, including the Rt. Hon. Andrew Lansley CBE MP, Secretary of State for Health, and to debate how we can ensure the reforms meet the needs of cancer patients and their families. I do hope you can join us to help make this year s conference the most successful to date. John Baron MP Chair, APPG on Cancer Chair: John Baron MP Vice-chairs: Diana R. Johnson MP, Paul Maynard MP, Owen Smith MP, Grahame M. Morris MP, Baroness Masham of Ilton, Lord Lewis of Newnham, Baroness Finlay of Llandaff The Secretariat to the is provided by
